Now that photo is a perfect example of two specialists co-operating, namely the spider and Kris. I like.

As a rank amateur when it comes to PP photos is there a noticeable difference in the finished quality of the photo between 8 and 16 bit format.

I use Lightroom to do all the initial adjustments to the photo and then export it as an 8bit Tiff for editing on Elements 9.

Check out the reply I got from MTSTUNER, I can't cut and paste it here. He explains it better than I can.

Thanks John,
I have solved the problem with the help of the Adobe forum. I had messed up the setting under the "Sample all layers " tab of the clone tool.

Thanks for the response.

Hi,
I’m having a problem using the cloning tool in PE9. I select the Clone Stamp Tool, place the cursor over the area I want to copy from and press the Alt key and left click the mouse.

Now my problem starts once I let go the Alt key and try to move the cursor over to the area I want to clone out the whole picture moves with the cursor, it looks like a top layer moving but I’m not working with layers. The cursor remains in the same relative position as where I Alt clicked it.

Obviously I’ve messed up a setting somewhere but for the life of me I do not know where to look.

Could anyone assist.
Thanks,
Greg

Hi David,

I had a similar problem with the Hoodman, Today I finished making an adaptor which I hope will solve the problem.

Still can't embed images from Flickr so here is the link to the pics

If you are starting out in editing make sure that you only work on copies of the original files, particulary if you saved them in Jpeg format.

RAW is a differant story but as a first timer today I would work on copies until I knew how things worked.

I'm all for using the SpiderPro 3. I have dual LCD monitors (Dell IPS 2209WA and LG IPS236, before calibration they showed completly differant colours, after calibration they are virtually identical.
