Well I got the Motor Drive to work after stripping it, I've posted some photos on Flickr of the innards and some observations under the first photo.

Thks Gary, There is switched power on the battery holder but no reaction from the motor drive. I intend stripping it to check for old gunk. I can't find any mention on the web about servicing these drives so will be working blind.

At long last I've finished the case for my LX and am reasonably satisfied. The foam is a type of rubber and I'm a bit worried what the long term effects may be on the finish of the camera and viewfinders.

Hi,
I tested my LX Motor Drive for the first time today and it does not work I’ve cleaned all the visible electrical contacts, to no effect. The power pack is the M type pistol grip and there is current on the connectors to the Motor Drive. When the MD is fitted to the camera it partly locks up the shutter release as expected but the viewfinder LED indicators do not activate nor does the red LED on the drive light up. I have tried it in all the different modes making sure that both the grip and drive were set to C or S . The rewind function also does not work. There is a film loaded.
This MD has not been used for years and I suspect that the contacts have oxidized over time, but without a service manual I’m wary of opening the drive to get to the switches.

Any words of wisdom or your experience will be appreciated.

I tried to place an order with SRS for a 43mm F1.9 Ltd lens as they have stock and the response was that they only ship to Europe
