It's speeding up. Uploaded five day before yesterday, approved today - they can't require many votes.

At full price it's a bargain. Superb looking shots.

From Facebook:

Are you a member of the PENTAX Photo Gallery? What do you think of the new voting system? We hope that it's made this process a lot easier. The more you vote, the quicker your images will be assigned a status.

Maybe this means your place in the queue is affected by how much you vote on other pics. Would be OK if the loading time wasn't STILL SO DAMNED SLOW for those of use with slower connections.

Same here, 30odd acceptances and one rejected. I think it is now automated as photos can be accepted at any time, whereas before I'm sure they were reviewed as there didn't seem to be any accepted outside of normal US working hours. Acceptance rates are too high and there are plenty of images that shouldn't be there and probably wouldn't if a judge was involved. The other thing I've noticed is that photos are not getting into the Premiere Collection since relaunch.

Colour version for me, really like the faded tones and the blues help bring the scene together. Whereas the other two say timeless, the colour version speaks of scraping a living in modern times with traditional methods. Excellent shot, lose the naff frame though.

I was very impressed with the results I saw on another site from the Sigma. Seems to be able to to conjure up an interesting image out of a nothing scene. I would definitely try and do a side by side with the 77.

So maybe it wasn't unintentional but your criticism doesn't bother me in the slightest. Carry on testing that assertion if you like. I don't know you and I don't want to, so I'm happy for you to think and say whatever you like, or nothing.

I thought 50% off had to be a pricing error, those lenses must be worth more than that and there wasn't an across the board reduction. If I had a time machine I would use it to buy a few Pentax lenses some years ago and put a bit of money on the Grand National to cover the cost. But I haven't, so I have to buy lenses in the present.

Well you did single me out by quoting me and telling me what I actually did. I'm happy to accept that was unintentional.

I haven't noticed anyone from the forum selling one of these lenses on ebay as new and thus with the implication it is supplied with a warranty. That I would frown upon.

There are various consumer websites alerting potential purchasers to good deals of any description. Ebay traders scour sites like these and the sites themselves for pricing errors and snap deals up in a flash. The deals aren't limited to this forum, other Pentaxians or even photographers. I don't think anyone can feel deprived as the deal was limited by the window of opportunity before Amazon spotted the error and not by stock levels.

Right.

Except here you presumably didn’t uncover anything at all.

In my view a better analogy is that one of your friends altruistically tells you about a bargin in some store, with the intention of spreading the good word to your other mates so everybody can take advantage.

However, quick as a flash you race in there and buy up everything you can carry, with a view to relieving your ‘friends’ of their hard earned cash.
You can presume anything you like. I was on the site that morning sending a few Christmas presents to relatives in the UK and I checked the Pentax stuff before I left, as I always do. I spotted the price for the 35 so I looked further. I was in the market for a 50 AF prime anyway and I wouldn't turn down the 35 at that price. The other lenses I bought to fund the first two. I'm not selling any to friends (unless they ask), I won't be advertising any on the forum or on ebay and I could have bought a lot more if I wanted to make a cash profit. They will be honestly described and sold at an attractive price to buyers that didn't have access to that deal. My 'profit' will be a couple of exceptionally cheap, maybe effectively free lenses. I'm open about that and if anyone has a problem about the ethics of it then I'm not going to lose any sleep.
