Well I got two 55-300's, two 35's and an FA50 1.4.

The idea is to make enough from the zooms and one 35 to fund the 50 and the best part of a 35. Plus I might keep a pouch and the hood from the zoom to make up for the pouch I lost and hood I broke on mine.

I'll sell on in France where the deal wasn't available. I'll test the lenses to make sure everything works fine and so someone will get an as new lens for a very good price.

I don't regard myself as unscrupulous although I don't mind if others see it differently. I don't see it as any different to uncovering the odd bargain at a charity shop and buying it at asking price.

In fact less so as Amazon didn't have to honour the deal, so it just encourages me to shop with them in future - it probably hasn't cost them anything and they stand to enhance their reputation. Everyone's happy.

There's nothing wrong with turning a quick profit from a bargain. But the price should reflect the fact the (presumably) there is no warranty - not quite brand new, rather it should be described 'as new condition'.

I've always tried to support this competition as I think the assignment based idea is more interesting than dragging up something for the archives. However, it has got to the point now where the decline in participation seems to have reached a new low and I regretfully think it's time to bow out. Things ain't what they used to be.

Well the first one used to play football.

The second runs around like a headless chicken.

The third doesn't run anywhere.

The fourth might finally get a game, in the Europa League (ha ha)

And the last one has just realised he signed for the wrong club.

A seller posts an item for sale. A potential buyer looks at the new price easily obtainable from umpteen websites, has a quick flick through the classifieds here to look at other recent asking prices and maybe looks at some completed ebay listings and decides to make an offer or not.

Or have I got it all wrong.
