I PM'd the judge as soon as I noticed the premature 'result' on Saturday and he replied saying he thought the competition ended on Saturday. I also drew it to the attention of John Riley. I don't know what is happening now.
I agree with Dr Mhuni that the rules of judging should be made quite clear at the outset of a competition, for the benefit of first timers.
I'm hoping that now Pentaxian will be able to re judge the entries as several people entered after the so called result was announced. It's okay by me if he comes up with a different result.

No. 2 for me. The black and white picture has much more contrast and impact, particularly in the sky.

Paul, great pic and thanks for showing the colour version. Like most of the others I prefer the black and white picture but I must say that red headscarf suggests possibilities. How about trying colour popping it?

Stick with the Sigma 10-20 Jack. Its a great lens as your shots show here. The point about group shots of people is a valid argument though.

Encourage the wee lad all you can James. He may be a future David Bailey or Joe Cornish. He's certainly got off to a good start.

On my monitor I'm not aware of the slight tone shift bottom left. But the image as whole is great. Everyone knows what St Paul's looks like so once again Paul has met the challenge by coming up with an original view that incorperates the modern architecture of the surrounding area. Excellent.

The sandwiches didn't last as long as the camera.

My digital SLRs haven't suffered any knocks, yet. But years ago I dropped a brief case down a full flight of uncarpeted stairs at work. It bounced off every step on the way down and landed on a tiled floor at the bottom. Inside the case was an ME Super and standard lens, 50mm 1.7. They weren't wrapped in anything protective and with only my sandwiches to soften the blow. Neither suffered any damage and went on working for years.
