Great idea and very well executed.

I think it's a great idea. The only problem I can think of is how it changes each week. Perhaps the person who sets the thread each week should choose the comment and/or edit he finds most helpful, and that person sets the next weeks critique? That would perhaps avoid multiple threads, otherwise it will have to work on the first critique thread and picture that is posted each week. If someone does not want to enter then it could be passed on to the next most helpful?

The other option would be for the person setting the thread to invite the next weeks entrant from the main photo forum? This might be a more interesting way of doing it.

I was not too keen on the cropped version, but your version does look
good, Andrew. It is fun working on other peoples pictures!

I forgot to mention in my previous post exactly why I had a go at processing the RAW file:
I really like the original version, I'm not so keen on the crop, and I also thought the sepia/doutone effect a bit strong.
However, I thought the original version could do with a bit more "bite", but perhaps I have put a bit too much colour into the tree?

I liked the colour of the (birch?) in the window and although I
think the rest of the picture looks quite
mono anyway I wanted to see if I could bring out both the colour and monotone elements of the picture.
I had a go at the RAW image, masked off the orangish tree trunk
and the view through the window then
converted the rest of the picture to black and white.
Then I used the sponge tool to desaturate the view through the
back window a bit, saturate the tree a bit more, and used a bit
of dodging of highlights on the walls to increase the contrast a bit.

Bearing in mind that you probably did not enjoy my comments on your previous set I hope you don't mind me posting a comment here.

I really like this set, especially the mono shots, the leaning tree one has excellent composition and the sky is very dramatic. I also really like the last mono one with the foreground stones and the second colour picture as I just like derelict buildings! The whole set is very good, with the only one I don't particularly like being the last colour shot in the set as I don't feel the wall has enough interest by itself in spite of leading very nicely into the scene.

I hope you took my previous comments in the spirit in which they were meant, and did not take any of my comments personally. I also hope you will post your next set on the forum so we don't have to open up a link.

Best regards,
Jonathan

As it seems both your computers were seriously infected, I would download the latest version of malwarebytes onto a pen drive on a computer that is not infected, and run it from the pen drive on both your computers just to make sure no infection remains. There is no need to reinstall the operating system, or reformat the drive.

Excellent shot, I like it just as it is. Looks a bit YMCA ...was that the intention?

Excellent news! I'd still use malwarebytes just to make sure, it's found stuff on my computer before that other programs have missed.
