Really good, love the 'texture' to the images and the overall atmosphere. Some real characters there by the look of things.

Hopefully might mean that the price of the K30 drops to the level it was at just before last Christmas!

Very nice...its good that you can get such results with a relatively cheap consumer camera.

Never thought i'd be contributing to a thread on glasses and poor eyesight...but it comes to us all.

I've got a pair of lowest strength reading glasses which I try not to use with my camera as its a right pain. At the moment I can get away with adjusting the dioptre adjustment above the viewfinder on my Kx but it is really difficult trying to see whether a shot is in focus etc when holding the Kx at about 18" distance and trying to squint at the LCD in outdoor light. This is a major reason why I am hoping to upgrade to a K30 later in the year. Not only is the LCD screen much higher resolution but it is bigger (3" as opposed to 2.7"). Every little bit helps.

Any manufacturer that designed 'poor eyesight alleviation ' features into their next DSLR range would do very well I suspect.

Hi Shanti,

welcome to the site. Had a particularly nice family holiday in Denmark a few years ago. The zoo at Aarhus was one of the best we have ever seen and particularly loved
the place where the two seas meet at Skagen. Hope to go back ...maybe to Funen next time.

cheers

Mark,

I would have thought you would really need to know how many answer 'YES' and how many answer 'NO'. For every 'YES' you get you might have got 10 'NO's or 100'NO's or maybe only 5 or so...point is you have no real way of knowing and therefore no real way of accurately gauging potential demand which you really need to know if you are going to be investing your own cash.

Plus, having looked at the 'Drum v flatbed' link. It might be my eyes which are getting on a bit or my monitor (22" NEC) or a combination of both, but I couldn't really see any appreciable difference between the two images at each stage other than the drum did include all the edge on one side. The rest of it seemed largely subjective to me or if there was a slight difference it was very small. Admittedly most people won't have an Epson 750 to start with.

Just some thoughts.

What would be the likely cost per scan and what would be the minimum number of prints to make it viable for an amateur? Need a bit more information explaining the cost/benefits really.

I particularly like No.3, those doors remind me of the Tardis. Street scene definitely much improved in B+W.
