Shape, form, symmetry... always a pleasure to see photos like this. I've come back to look at them several times, they don't lose their fascination and interest for me. Keep at it!! Steve Well said, Steve, completely agree. Done the same myself.

Rumbling Kern, Northumberland.

And another vote for 3 and 5. For me, waves swirling around rocks are always more impressive live than in a photo - unless it's in storm force 9 conditions! I do hope the person at the end of the rocks in no. 2 had a safe route back to dry land... Steve

An Artistic Approach

Sometimes I take an artistic approach to photography. Mabry Mill, on the Blue Ridge Parkway, is the most photographed site on the Parkway, and is likely the most photographed mill in the country. Because the color of the mill is a weathered gray, I decided to experiment. I used a Hoya Sepia B filter...

First Play with the GR4.

I had my first day out with this new camera last week in Plymouth and as luck would have it with fairly thick sea mist. It was mainly snaps, although it actually has a Snap mode setting I haven't used it yet. here's a few; 1. 2. 3. 4. SOOC, Students possibly ? Today's youth eh...

Test Shots SOOC in Mono.

A little too "deep" for my tastes, but dialling back a little is going to produce some excellent images. The clarity, contrast and tonal range look great otherwise. As Haris says, keep experimenting - that's the best way to learn!

A few more, still playing.

Ps, I had Snap setting on with focus distance set at least 2.5 meters. Hence hyperfocal comment.

Moonrise (not Hernandez!)

I'm no Ansel Adams and my current dog walking circuit is definitely not around Hernandez. But having decided that sunset was over, turned off the camera and told my ever-patient dog that he could continue walking, I turned round and felt in a small way what Adams must have felt when he saw the moon ...

Macclesfield Canal

A great set, well composed. Brings back memories of narrow boating. Agree on mono choice, maybe colour if any narrow boats were included 😊

An afternoon with the Pentax-A 70-210mm F/4

Lovely photos and technically excellent. Enough depth of field for the subject to be in focus but with a nicely OOF background. Use of TAv is interesting. I've tended to stick to Av for this sort of thing and hope that the shutter speed is OK. However, with the high ISO capability of the K3iii, you'...

First try out with DA*300 + HD DA 1.4x Converter (Motorbikes)

I bought the converter a month ago but had never taken it out of the box to try...until friday when I thought a trip to Oulton Park for the BSB practice day would hopefully confirm I hadn't wasted my money. Paired it with the K5IIs as I had the 50-135 already attached to the K3 and this proven c...

First try out with DA*300 + HD DA 1.4x Converter (Motorbikes)

These look very good. I would not have said there was a TC involved. Can I ask how was focusing - follow focus or pre-focused on a particular spot?

First try out with DA*300 + HD DA 1.4x Converter (Motorbikes)

Very nice set! The TC is quite an underrated bit of kit. Thanks very much...agree with you it is underrated in my limited experience. I enjoyed these, thanks for sharing. They all look good to me and I like number 6 where you can see the rider's face through the visor. Getting the knee down w...

Dragonfly at Linford

I would hope to get back soon & will try a slower shutter. But today I wanted to get some images of them.

Harvest time in Somerset.

Graham I think your mono harvest images are stunning. That's not saying the colour versions are without merit, I love both but they do evoke different emotions. To me the mono versions unfettered by colour have a timeless quality about them that you don't seem to get with colour. At the same time I ...

Today's (Calamitous) Walk.

Have I missed something? Why Calamitous? More than the fallen tree; My wife wandered off when I had my back turned taking a snap (no longer than a couple of mins), went missing for an hour, a member of the public found her just before I called the Police. Maybe too much info.

Autumn Vine Leaves

The colours in #2 are exquisite. The pink foreground and green back ground - works so well. As always, great capture.

One of my earliest photos rediscovered - do you recognise him?

Back in the late 70's and early 80's as a teenager I often trogged up to the Malvern Winter Gardens at a weekend to see if I could sneak into one of the many concerts held there, sometimes I could beg, borrow or steal (the stealing was in the form of nicking empty bottles and taking them to the shop...
