I would hope to get back soon & will try a slower shutter. But today I wanted to get some images of them.

Myself and the little one spotted a few dragonflies at the Lowther Castle gardens. They're so difficult to picture in flight so these are outstanding.

Thanks for all the comments. I returned to Linford Yesterday to try & get some more images; only one dragonfly was left; the rest had cleared off.
On the first visit, there must have been a dozen or so flying about over the reed bed just outside of the Bird hide.

That is the joy / frustration of nature / wildlife photography - you can never be certain what you are going to get but need to be ready for what is there! On this occaision you should just bask in the glory of the first set of images which were superb.
