Gave my 2007 K10D an outing with a free lens BUT still have the old Back Focus Trouble!

Strange. To my eyes, the Audi symbol (linked rings) on the car behind the central arrow look distinctly blurred while the arrow looks sharper. Steve

Same here as Lubbyman, but I'm only on a mobile. Even so it looks OK on the arrows. This is surely not wide open, what f stop is used?

Gave my 2007 K10D an outing with a free lens BUT still have the old Back Focus Trouble!

Looking at the EXIF on Flikr, my feeling is that the image needs to be calibrated sRGB (at the moment it is uncalibrated), ISO 100 (now 250), sharpness/saturation/contrast looked at, and centre focus point only used. Then ideally a brightly lit subject that tapers distance wise, such as perhaps a di...

Gave my 2007 K10D an outing with a free lens BUT still have the old Back Focus Trouble!

It may be a duff lens rather than the camera, especially if a freebie :-) As others have mentioned, a more scientific method of testing focus might help to pin down what is wrong.

Gave my 2007 K10D an outing with a free lens BUT still have the old Back Focus Trouble!

I don't know about 'scientific' but in the one case I had with focusing issues I put the camera on a tripod and used a row of iron railings. I stuck some random bit of litter on one upright about half way along and twiddled with the fine focus adjustment until it was right. That was one of my F seri...

Gave my 2007 K10D an outing with a free lens BUT still have the old Back Focus Trouble!

I think the K10D is infamous for back and front focus issues and from a time where AF fine-tuning was not included in cameras. However, I had the same lens a few years back and it also had front or back focus which was a shame as otherwise it was a good lens.

Isn't the fine focus adjustment done using a screw under the bottom plate?

Isn't the fine focus adjustment done using a screw under the bottom plate? From memory, I thought there was a debug mode for focus adjustment?

Wet Dandelion Seedhead

LennyBloke takes the wide-open beauty of flowers, all I can manage is weeds and wet... Two photos of a wet dandelion seedhead that came very close to being squashed beneath a wellington boot this afternoon while hunting the dreaded bindweed . But I spotted it in time and, as I wasn't yet c...

Wet Dandelion Seedhead

Wow, both of them have very different character so they're both great. The first probably wins out since the OOF bits on the second are slightly distracting. Really smooth transitions from in focus to out of focus.

Wet Dandelion Seedhead

For me it is the second image, focusing on the "pin cushion" has given the image greater depth. I don't mind the out of focus areas. I have a copy of this lens and the results (from the lens, not my photography!) are always superb

Robin Hood's Bay is always a favourite, too!

Only one thing wrong with this destination, it is a steep walk back up to the car park.

A Good Crop of Sloes Coming?

The blakthorn is out and so was I with dog and camera. With the amount of blossom on the trees and hedges, it could be a good year for sloes. The soft-focus, romantic, clouds-of-blossom style isn't my style (at the moment, anyway) so something harder that picked up the contrast due to the bright sun...

'Drive It Day'...April 2026 (Image Heavy and uploaded at 1000pix size)

I love the Morris Minor van and the humour of the owners, see the sign writing "Tappet and Crank, Motor Engineers" Yes ...noticed that too...made me laugh! Glad to have brought back some memories from the deepest depths of the 'grey stuff' Weather was very co-operative as you mention...

Shape, form, symmetry... always a pleasure to see photos like this. I've come back to look at them several times, they don't lose their fascination and interest for me. Keep at it!! Steve
