K7 Problems ?
I wonder if the viral marketing they did with the K-7 was maybe a little too successful and Pentax had to rush it out faster than they would have liked. It all seems to have been done in a very slapdash fashion to be honest. Trouble is this could come back and bite them big time, especially if th...

K7 Problems ?
What do you get in your newsagents Mike? The Sunday sport :lol::lol: If it is anything like the ones we get, Tesco's racks and racks of woman’s Mags, a few sports mags, one or two train spotters and the camera mags round the back even then only one or two.:( The one and only Newsagents in my...

K7 Problems ?
Well, with a heavy heart my 2nd K-7 is going back for a refund. Thing is the problem is so simple that I am surprised at not hearing anyone else on here mention it. Simply, when using the grip, the rear dial stops working, randomly it may come back, then go again etc. Had the grip replaced 2 week...

K7 Problems ?
Hi Greytop. I don't know your first name! Be sure and let me know if the problem occurs in the heat (somewhere nice I hope) as I want to get mine for a special holiday for my 50th. wedding anniversary in Jan when we are going on a cruise in the Caribbean which should be quite warm at that time of ...

K7 Problems ?
Would add I was one who reported problems but it was not really a K7 problem more one of the specification not giving the expected results. The spec. on the K20 view finder and the K7 are the same but the actual hardware is different which means I am unable to focus my camera's view finder so that I...

raw vs jpeg
That's a valid reason Gearge. I just have the feeling that many people are pushed into shooting RAW without really knowing why, thus making their learning curve with digital unnecessarily steep. A friend of mine did this. He thought he was missing something, so tried out RAW and lost the plot wit...

raw vs jpeg
RAW and JPEG aren't competing, they are aspects of the same thing. It's a bit like a baking a cake. With RAW, you have all the ingedients and you decide what combination, amount and cooking to use. The cake will be to your personal taste. With JPEG, the ingredients are the same but the combina...

Hm just realized this is a very old post. This is the second time something from back in 2009 pops up under New Topics lol. Seems like a little forum glitch?

I feel like sh**
They are such a support and such a great miss when they go, my dear ol 18 year puss is slowing down a lot now and I'm dreading it. Eventually you both will look back and feel lucky you had him so long. Lilly ps- when my last puss went (16) I did a lovely collage of pics I took of her through her...

copied again...
anybody remember a while back, I posted about a tent I bought and use for photography? Those strobist copycats are copying me again... this is like deja-vu there also another time, when they started posting about using a ring flash for on axis contrast control... Oh well... I've been us...

Ebay AGAIN!!
Yes return it to the private user, I fully agree. But.. ..what would reputable dealers such as SRS or Canon outlet do? Maybe it's time that Ebay split into two distinct halves, one for private sellers, the other for dealers. They could charge appropriately and maybe we could get back to 200...

Ebay AGAIN!!
Maybe it's time that Ebay split into two distinct halves, one for private sellers, the other for dealers. They could charge appropriately and maybe we could get back to 2002 values!8) So would you expect the dealers to subsidise the private seller by them paying higher charges or are you saying it s...

Another Jessops bargain
Hi, I rang Jessops and there are some still available but only in the Channel Islands, had a look but still could not find one. As a side issue are the Pentax KA fit Teleplus MC7 Macro 2x teleconverter lens any good? I think this is manual focus only? Regards

Intrigued!
Hi Howard, I have noticed this as well and also how some photos on the gallery don't receive any comments either! So I went and looked at all your posts to see if I was one of the guilty :( It seems I have only ever reponded to one of your posts - sorry  My reasons for not reponding to post...

I think a lot of people do not like to criticize someones photo in case it offends them, because if they uploaded to the gallery they think it is a good photo, however there has been a lot of bad photos recently and that's only my opinion, i.e. off level, poor focus, bad exposure, poor composition t...

As a compromise, and this would not involve too much bandwidth, could the fortnightly competitions go into the gallery alongside the weekly comps. This way the competition pictures would all be in one location where they could easily be viewed and accessed at later dates. For instance you can go bac...

Notification of the gallery comments would make it perfect. Lack of notification in the gallery was really the main problem why I stopped uploading my images there. I like to know when someone has commented on any of my images so I can reply back appreciating the effort made to view and comment ...
