Microsoft ICE - Free Panoramic software
I agree with Mongoose that its a very pleasing panorama, although some joins are visible in the sky, and additional sources of free software are always welcome. In my experience the 'only' way to prevent sky joins showing is not only to shoot full manual (aperture, shutter and focus) but also to ...

Jessops has GONE
No, it's back. Jessops has no chance of going anywhere. Even if they do shut their shops down the name is worth a lot (and Canon are first in the queue). I think they will ride out the recession but continue to close down shops, then eventually Canon will call in their marker and take over! ...

Jessops has GONE
It was there at 16:31 with a different look. The three Pentax lenses were still there as well. No longer available for home delivery...searched everywhere for a store....referred back as only available for home delivery.....it's obviously a time loop.

Amazing new medium
Will do. I've overdue for a trip back to BC and the extra "leg" to your part of the country would be more than worthwhile. Al

Amazing new medium
But, back on topic. it should be pointed out that the original video post is not of a live projection. It's just a demo, as one of the comments on Vimeo points out. Here's the real thing: http://vimeo.com/5677879 The History of Quebec projection is technically amazing, though I would personall...

Squirrel Steals The Show
Is it real or is it photoshopped? The original is at This is an 800kB PNG file rather than the 20KB JPGs in the newspaper sites There are arguments both ways: The squirrel is in focus so an autofocus would have focus on the squirrel during the timer delay. The couple are laughing...

It's become difficult for PC builders!
Ok, i'll admit from the start, this is a bit of a rant and i'm blatantly using this thread as a bit of a cathartic endeavour. But... I came home from work to find my PC won't 'post'. By that I mean you switch it on and you get the beep which essentially is the motherboard saying i'm happy, and...

It's become difficult for PC builders!
Thanks George. It'll be fine tomorrow when it arrives i'm sure. I've gone with the same manufacturer, Asus, so as far as my installation of Windows 7 goes it should be happy with it and not bluescreen when I try to launch Windows. I have'nt used Dabs for a very long time I must say - I've r...

It's become difficult for PC builders!
Well i'm very happy! Motherboard turned up at 8 this morning, and half an hour later i'm back as normal - it definitely was my motherboard that had died! Which i'm very relieved with - plus I dont have to stay in all day now waiting for it to arrive :)

It's become difficult for PC builders!
Ebuyer are excellent IMHO. I also use Novatech, as their Reading shop is only about four miles away. Their prices are not usually *quite* as good as Ebuyer, but their customer service and knowledge is very good indeed (apart from the grumpy tech support guy based in Portsmouth!). They also run ...

It's become difficult for PC builders!
That's very useful information Derek which I was'nt aware of - many thanks for sharing! I had recently purchased a 600W PSU - I too would never really rely on your 'standard with the case 350 or 400W PSU' so I did'nt think it would have failed in the short time I had it (though you never know wit...

It's become difficult for PC builders!
I read your blog rant on feature-itis - I thought it was just me, especially when I posted 'death on the dial' on this forum about three years ago and no-one seemed to know what I was talking about. Why do we need modes? Surely an e-dial for each of aperture, shutter speed and ISO, plus a spot me...

picture framing to hang on walls
On the rare occasion were I produce something worthwhile I pop down to my local Ikea, they do wood veneer snap in frames from £10 upwards. Thanks Graham That's very helpful, Ikea is just around the corner from here, so I should pop down and get a couple of those. I have no prints at all on my ow...

Can you actually believe that bit? It is possible. I've bought kit lenses with a body and just sold them on eBay without opening them at all. All things are possible, however unlikely they may seem. :) I also can believe it to be very possible. Am right in the middle of one similar situation and wan...
