It was a tossup between this or the fish shot for the Mono Plant comp. I Wound up liking the one with the fish best, but like this shot too. Tried to get fish, pads AND flower, but the three wouldn't line themselves up

Thanks for the kind words Lilly I Wondered if the fish was getting a little Off Topic for the challenge topic, but liked the pic enough to post it anyway...

Going through my older (OK, October, not THAT old) shots - These were two of the first with the new camera, taken on the ride home after picking up the THIRD K10D body... That one was dodgy too, but the forth seems good so far!

Thanks for the kind words guys For $3000, I could almost consider changing my name

The grain/noise wasn't actually intentional, it came about (I think) because of the higher ISO (Shot taken after sunset) and post processing, and me not knowing how, or if, I could remove it! In the end I liked the effect though.

Does it count as a landscape though? I think it does... Too late for the comp, but I'm entering it in the monthly work challenge which had the same topic.

That's one UGLY little bug... I think we get the buggers about here as well, kids call 'em 'sprinkler bugs' because they sounds like one of those knocker sprinkler heads

I Love what you're doing with that lens... The Lens Envy has started already

Our work photography forum has a monthly photo challenge, this months is B&W Landscapes, so I thought I'd give it a shot... I've never really done any B&W conversions before, so really I just played around in Lightroom until I got results I liked... Playing around with the greyscale mix controls produces some interesting results!

Any tips, or recommended settings for doing B&W conversions greatly appreciated

I Love bees, nicely done

The first one seems like more of a yellow blob, but it's always hard when the buggers are flying, and better than what I could pull off. The third is my favourite, as we can see all of him.
