I tried the trial version of adobe lightroom, now that is a piece of software which was unworkable slow on my PC... (4 year old Pentium-4 3,06GHz with 2GB RAM).
I Really like lightroom, it seems much simpler than Silkypix with some nice automatic settings, but with a $299 US pricetag over Silkypix's $149, I might have to learn to use silkypix properly

That means a tough choice as to which one you shoose to delete. The Pup!
Thanks!
(Is there a sticky thread somewhere with the rules that I missed?)

1 - is somewhat soft - I Don't think the focus was on the tree, I think it's more a case of the tree got more benefit from sharpening in PP. he whole shot was pretty soft, and due to the tree had an awful green tinge to it. I've been shooting in RAW since Cloning for the scratch is something I've not tried before, I'll have to give it a shot
2 - Was shot in RAW, and I think I lifted the exposure a little... A little too much by the sounds of it!
3 has a few different names... Over here the're 'Bobtails', Hadn't heard it before we got to WA. Back 'home' in SA the're 'Sleepys' or 'stumpies' and seems like in NSW the're 'shinglebacks'. Every other state probably has their own name too (He's not a bluetounge, though they do have blue tounges!)

New to the forum, and the DSLR world, having purchased a K10D with a Sigma 17-70 just a week ago. Lurking about, using competition / assignment topics as an excuse to take shots and learn more about what I'm doing with the new gadget, but for now, here's 3 from my first week of the new camera Comments, suggestions, improvements etc most welcome.

I'm loving this lens and it's macro ability, not as impressive as some shots I've seen about, but for someone new to the game, it's a huge step up from what I'm used to, and is very nice to use. Seems the only limiting factor is the lack of talent behind the shutter button

They sure are. You would have your fair share of them in your neck of the woods i suspect
I've been trying to get nice shots of a couple of Orb Webs around the yard at the moment, but it's always too dark to get 'em by the time they start spinning
What lens did you use for the main mummy shot?
