Have you tried converting to B&W? You might be able to pull out more structure in the ropes and the pulleys. I'd also be inclined to rotate it and crop it to create something a bit more abstract - it might work it might not, but I'd give it a go.

Thanks for all of your thoughts, comments and suggestions, including the "spanner throwers"! I now feel a trip to SRS coming on where I will make a final decision.

Thanks all

The more I looked at it, the more I liked it.

However, I do agree with LennyBloke, I don't like the 'split'across the background as my eye keeps being drawn to it.

A bit too "up close and personal" for me! Elk are not to be messed with.

I've decided that it's time to upgrade from my K-r. I can't run to a K3, so my options seem to be a second hand (mint) K5, or new K5ii or K5iis, with my preference being to go for new. As a result I suppose that I'm really looking at a choice between the K5ii or the K5iis.

My main photographic interests are landscape (urban & rural), old buildings (ruins!), macro/close-up mainly of flowers and insects, and still life. I'm not interested in fashion or portraiture.

Given the type of images I like to take, is the iis worth the extra money? What would people recommend?

Very nice - I particularly like the lichen on the grave stones, but that might a result of the over-emphasis on the green tones which, to my eye and on my monitor, looks a bit strong on the grass in the foreground.

Can anyone identify this moth? Taken a week or so back on the patio door.

I've been researching non-Apple tablets for my wife and the Sony Xperia Tablet Z seems to be the best available at the moment. If this feature is important to you, it's also water and dust resistant. However, It's not cheap!

Several reviewers have also rated it as a better performer all-round than the iPads, not that I'd touch Apple with a very long barge pole (and NO - I'm not a Luddite, I just don't like Apple!).

I use ProAm Imaging for mine and my last order came in at £16 including postage for 15 images of varying sizes up to A3 (11 were 10 x 8 or larger).
