Its an effective detail shot and captured nice and sharply, and the strong diagonals make for an effective composition.

I think the exposure could be more balanced (ie less bright sky and a bit of shadow lift to see some more detail on the circular rigging things).

Also the blue fringing (a kind of chromatic abberation) is very strong along the top edge of that metal rod - caused by the extreme exposure contrast. I'm sure a selection closely around it and de-saturation would deal with it.

Have you tried converting to B&W? You might be able to pull out more structure in the ropes and the pulleys. I'd also be inclined to rotate it and crop it to create something a bit more abstract - it might work it might not, but I'd give it a go.

Does that improve it or not?

I prefer the original to the mono version. The only other suggestion I'd have would be to crop the left & bottom slightly so the left-most block was similarly tight in the bottom-left corner as the right-most block is at the top-right corner. This would crop out the end of the loose rope - which I find a tad distracting.

Otherwise it's a good striking shot.
