The cheap ones from ebay are not great, they tend to be fluffy and leave bits of fluff behind on your sensor. You paid hundreds of pounds for your camera so spend the 15 quid or so on decent cleaning stuff to look after it.
I bought the ones from SRS to clean the sensor on my K-7 after I made a schoolboy error and made this mess of it (please don't ask)

Try inkflow.co.uk they provide continuous ink systems as well as 100ml bottles with replacement cartridges and syringes. Very cheap way to print yourself.

If you are using the newest Pentax cameras K-5ii/s then the AF is significantly improved and whereas I used to AF adjust pretty much all my lenses on my K-7, none have required it on my K-5iis.

Are you sure you have your pricing correct on the A 100? The brand new WR version can be bought with 3 years warranty for £519

I took 100,000 pictures with my old, now semi retired, K-7 and a huge amount of those with the DA*16-50 attached in every weather condition you could imagine, even had snow building up on the camera and lens, and it never had a problem!
