You need to cover your viewfinder during long exposures to prevent light leakage.

And the filter just encroaches on the front right tyre, left as you look at the photo.
B&W for me too.

Oh dear, it looks like you have tried to rescue an unrescueable (if there is such a word) image, it's got no detail and has been over sharpened to the point where the bird has a halo.
Sorry just being honest.

Yes Al,
There is a Tamron 1.4 (not sure of the model) and also a Kenko 1.5X Pz-AF Teleplus SHQ both support SDM/HSM (providing the lens is fast enough) but are no longer in production they can both be had second hand. A clue for you... I had the Kenko and the Pentax 1.7, I sold the Kenko.

Lower noise followed by a higher pixel count.

Although a higher pixel count is not important to many people it is to us that like shooting aircraft/birds/boats or anything requiring a long lens. Being able to crop much harder with less noise would be great.
+1 and for bugs in dark places

Is this in burst mode? I have the same thing happening when shooting karts in burst mode, for no reason one or more of the burst will be massively over exposed.

They look rather soft to me? If that's your Bigma in the hide shot I'd recommend stopping it down to about f8, a sharp grainy shot is better than a blurred one.
