Ok, born in Germany but since the late 80s in the UK. Married (and happy) I am in my mid 50s soon, Registered Disabled due to a very bad Back, Hip and Knee injury in my time as a nurse. Got god days sometimes, but be never pain free and very limited in lifting and problems walking (balance). Onset of arthritis as well (runs in the family for generations).
Grown up in Germany but not with a dummy in my mouth but a camera in my hand.
Did my stretch (and more) in the German Army and from there the name Smutje comes.
I somehow got in to nursing but never lost my interest in Filming and Photography.
Got back in to filming years ago when in my family where Marriages and Anniversaries within month of each other and when I seen how much people are charging for something that I could do.
Charged the first one up front and bought the Sony PD150 and the extras I needed with each more appointment.
Got my K-5 now and develop a serious case of LBA ever since as well as I need or find always the extra lens I want or need.
My main lens I aim for will be a Bigma in 2011, but I never can pass on a bargain.
More often at the moment I run in to problems with accreditation and one of my aims is to get a 'Press Pass' from any of the 'UK Gatekeepers' as fast as possible as I have lost out to accredited photographers too often by now. I am not afraid of asking for help and taking it when I can get it, but always remember that someone was there when I needed help and help others if I can in return.
