Hi all,

I was taking some test shots with my new Sigma 50mm Macro (on a tripod)at various apertures, and whilst they were high quality I'm convinced they could be sharper (or maybe its just me), and as I didn't get a user guide with my used KR, what is best procedure for 'tuning' in lenses using the fine focus adjustment facility?

Hi all,

After using a K10 set on PEF files for a number of years, I decided to get a KR, and when setting it up, set it to record PEF files just as the K10 did, no problem until I tried to open them in CS3, came up with 'wrong type of document', K10 PEFs open no problem.

After comparing the properties of the K10s and KRs PEFs, the only difference I can see is the KRs are larger files. So now I've set the KR to DNG with no problems, but what do I do with all the PEFs I would like to open?

Any other Pentax users had the same problem?

I have now got a KR, but can it be considered as a move up as its supposed to be an 'entry' level camera?

Apart from the smaller view finder, initial impressions have been superb, the different controls are easily mastered.

The shots I've taken so far seem a lot sharper/clearer than on the K10, using the same lenses as well. I think it may have needed some focus calibration.

Anyone else similarly impessed?

Some useful links, and is it right that the K20 (and all after the K10) have focus calibration as standard in their menus?

Been a number of posts on this topic, some in the past week or so. Suggest a search?

Short answer is 'yes', using a so-called 'hack' that enables additional options in camera. The adjustment is global, however.

That said, seems people who've used this method find it quick and easy enough to change the 'global' setting for each lens as they use it.
Have there been posts describing the procedure for this 'hack'?

Hi all,

I was wondering if it is possible to re-calibrate the focussing on the K10?

Some superb shots here, I'm thinking of getting this lens myself, whats the most you would pay for a used one? or the going rate for a new one?

Regards

Simon.

Its worth a shot, especially if I can get the tube right in.
