Hi all,

I was taking some test shots with my new Sigma 50mm Macro (on a tripod)at various apertures, and whilst they were high quality I'm convinced they could be sharper (or maybe its just me), and as I didn't get a user guide with my used KR, what is best procedure for 'tuning' in lenses using the fine focus adjustment facility?
No equipment list, lifes too short!

http://www.pentax.jp/english/support/download_manual.html for the manual

Menu C page three item 21. Only one global setting on KR though.

Did you turn the shake reduction off (info screen push two top right) as it won't work on a tripod?

There are some calibration installations you can make or buy where you need to focus on and fine tune the focus.

You can simply test the focus with a tripod by first making a shot with the normal AF and then one using the liveview contrast focus, that one bypass all the calibration errors that can occur with the normal AF.

If you see a difference then the AF might be out.

I'm assuming what you're looking for is advice on the best procedure, set-up, etc?

Rather than repeat other posts, if you search for AF tuning here on the Forum it will throw up a few discussions and pointers, as this has been a much aired issue.

If you don't find what you want, PM me, and I'll forward you a number of (non Forum) links on the subject.
