Hi all, I have recently purchased the 200mm DA f2.8 lens and am considering also purchasing a high end teleconverter, so, has anyone got/used this lens with a said teleconverter? and if so what are your opinions or advice?

Despite being a Pentax user for many years I have regular experience of using both brands, using a K5/Sigma 17-70/Pentax 55-300 for 'serious' work lol, and a Nex5n/Sigma 30mm for walkabout/street photography and for times and events when I'd prefer a smaller inconspicous camera, and sometimes I've gone out with both together and I hate to admit it but the Sony can produce some outstanding image quality for what is really a pared down Dslr, especially across the centre, so much so it would be my choice if I to keep only one camera.

Obviously other users will own a K5 or variant with say, the FA 31mm or DA 35mm and this too should produce outstanding results, so I would say keep an open mind, the grass might be greener (or not!).

One last point about the Sony (or any Sony), a flip screen really does give you the reach and the low down.

Hi all, has anyone had experience of the Sigma 120-400, or even the 150-500 as I want to step up from my Pentax 55-300 and the 60-250 may be a touch out of my budget.
I have a K5 and feel I can more out of this camera with a better lens, I do mainly 'walkabout' photography.

I have a similar issue with the 55-300, I have just moved from a KR to a K5 and am just getting to grips with it (superb camera though) but am struggling to get really sharp images with this lens, they dont seem quite as sharp as on the KR. The thing is, do I need to set the lens to a particular focal length before adjusting the Fine Focus?

What to do?, I also was thinking of getting the K5 (I have a KR) and now this pesky K30 comes out and also talk of a K5 replacement, so I think I'll hang fire for now (and see if there are any sensor issues a la K5 with the new cameras, pessimism goes a long way lol)

Has anyone moved from a KR to a K5 which I am considering doing at the moment, and if so did they see any improvement in image quality using the same lenses?

After seeing the Samsung d xenon 16-45mm for sale on various sites I was wondering if there is any optical difference between it and the Pentax version, specifically, is it the same quality glass?

I had a K10 for a few years then moved up (or sideways)to the KR and was more than happy with its range of features and noise handling (not to mention a Auto Focus adjust facility) but I do miss the top plate sometimes and also the solid feel of a steel bodied camera.

I will consider the matter further, though tumbling prices would be fine incentives!

I too am thinking of upgrading to the K5, but from a KR.

Using the same lenses, would I see a big difference in image quality (leaving aside build quality etc.) as a result?

I have recently been comparing these two on DPreview, as I want to upgrade from a KR, the K5 swings it for me (also I'm loath to change systems). But assuming sensor issues have been sorted, I will be upgrading soon.
