I think if the background was very dark/black then the current lighting would look good - the bridge of the nose does have a small amount of shine but you have got a decent catchlight in both eyes. A little too much space above the head for me but that is a subjective opinion. Technically speaking the subjects left hand is slighty out of focus so perhaps more depth of field is required or perhaps leave the hands out alltogether.

As this was a quick set-up out of the box its a nice capture and shows lots of promise - I look forward to seeing more of your pictures

I agree - thats why adobe brought out the pubicly available dng format to try to addresss the problems of long term archival format. Pentax have taken the enlightened route of making it available in camera along with Hasselblad, Leica, Casio, Ricoh, and Samsung

I just shoot in dng and use cs2 with the colour space set to adobe rgb if i add jpeg as well and get no issues so hopefully you will be fine

Well i posted mine on the 23 dec via recorded delivery and it says on the royal mail site that it is still in the system being processed so i wander if royal mail have either lost it or the company is closed over christmas/new year? if royal mail have lost it i am not sure what to do really - luckily i took a photocopy of the reciept for warranty purposes anyway - however the website states that my "claim has not been verified yet" so perhaps they have recieved it but the post office never got a signature? who knows -looks like both sides are a bit of a shambles
