Shot this at a workshop with Model Charlie

K7 and DA*50-135 -
Lighting setup - 1 Quantum flash with beauty dish straight in front and 45 degrees high / white reflector / black barn doors on both sides / quantum flash on white background. (Obviously the lights are not mine, just provided by the workshop!

What do you think?

Nathan I like this shot

But have you masked and lightened up the back ground ?

I am troubled by the lack of detail in the hair against the pure white b/ground ( Top left)

I think you could clone the hair out (neck right hand side and clean the hair around the ears)

Lighten the eye a bit just to give it a bit of punch

I'm on the fence with this one...
there is little to fault technically...
but as a point of interest, I see a lighting setup that seems to contradict itself.
What I mean is this, Usually when one goes high key on the background, one expects softer, lower contrast lighting on the subject... In this case I see dramatic light on the subject with strong shadows going right to black, and it almost cries out for a low key background...

Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

I use a similar setup quite often but with the addition of a white or silver refector straight in front and 45 degrees below. Nice shot BTW. I think it would be better cropped to just show her face getting rid of the black strap and d rings.

I commented on the mono version of this on EPZ.....I think this is a superb image. Lighting for the type of photography you are going for is faultless...superb stuff!
