Well Koenigsegg (makers of expensive supercars) have recently bought Saab, which is the equivalent of Hasselblad stepping in to buy Pentax.

Twilight can be absolutely fantastic, but often you don't have long when the light is "just right". It's best to have a shot in mind & turn up a little early to get your composition right. Then it's just a matter of getting the exposure right (no mean feat). Dawn twilight can be especially beautiful, but getting out of bed is the real challenge.

You know Amin is easy going in this respect & has learnt alot this way, plus in some areas has then gone on to out-perform the advisors. I'm wondering if it's all a giant ruse to test us all.

Forgot to say.. I've noticed alot of outdoors stuff from you lately. There isn't an issue with the shed is there ? Neighbours complaining about the constant flashes being emmitted from the bottom of the garden ? Can we expect a username change from Aminstar to AminAsbo ?

It's always easy to offer a view on composition, but as you say, we don't always know what lies just beyond the frame.

You could always try a gentle "smudge" of the pixellated area, easier said than done though.

The beatiful reflected light on the left & the buildings centre right with the stark horizontal lines hold most appeal for me. I think there are several more shots to be had here. I really like night photography, I just can't get motivated to go out late. The nights are drawing in though.

The crop of the bridge seems a little abrupt to me, I'd have like to see the bridge ropes cropped at their natural point where they meet the roadway. There also seem to be some artifacts in the light graduation above the bridge, although this could be due to the resolution adjustment for resizing.

Mike, if the highlights are totally burnt out then there may be nothing to recover. If this occurs, moving the recovery slider up will only result in the "burnt" parts becoming off-white, without any detail coming back.

I find you can recover more detail from shadow than from highlights, although you do run the risk of increased noise or even banding.

Perhaps the most feared division is the Academie Pentaxaise, which comes down very heavily on anybody who dares to admit that they are thinking of switching to another brand. This is only possible with a dispensation from His Holiness and documented proof that you MUST have an 800mm lens and what some people call a full-frame sensor.

Oh dear, bar an adaptall 80-210mm which doesn't count as it'll fit any brand., my longest focal length is 50mm. I'm gonna need several teleconverters !

Indeed , I should have learned from other websites that one does tend to get "jumped on" if one isnt careful what they say. I will make of point restricting my posting to things I am more qualified to talk about
Sorry if I was a little blunt. I was just somewhat confused by the asking of opinions on which camera to choose, followed by the "nit picking" comment. Basically, any dslr on the market will produce a great photograph. It's what suits you best that counts. Some lower budget models are intentionally handicapped by the makers so that they do not compete with more expensive models in their range, so just make sure the model you choose is capable of all the features you may require.
Although asking on a Pentax forum will generally lead you in one direction only, many here will advise other models if a specific need is evident.

Plus nobody needs to be "qualified" to talk about any subject here, so please do not let me be the one to discourage you.

Back to the topic in hand. What kind of photography do you tend to shoot most or aspire to ?
