Time will tell, but there is a school of thought that says that any publicity is good publicity....
Very true, I'd hope they don't hang everything on the colours element though John.

Alternatively could you set a limit for the interval between the date of the competition and the date of the last post? Thus trying to prevent long periods of inactivity followed by a chance competition entry.
Not a practical solution as far as I can see. A quick "nice photo" or "I agree" in a random thread & you're then free to enter. This would devalue the forum more than the comp.

Actually I wrote "in a big way" so I don't understand your mis-quote.

Please elucidate. :
Sorry, the bad part was my sentiment... the more lucid colours are bad enough, but that last image cannot be a good way to market a dslr surely. I certainly can't see it making it to the West.
I thought people who were stepping up to entry level dslr were looking to take photography more seriously. Surely people who want a bright coloured camera would like it to fit in their handbag (or indeed manbag)

The K-x has the makings of a great camera on its own with the sensor & features contained within. Making it look like it's from the early learning centre cannot be conducive to its application as an excellent camera.

Thanks for dragging the thread back on topic Mike.

I'd concur with your sentiments on this one. For me it's about enhancement rather than rescue. Much of the time I'll have an image in my head when taking the shot, I'll try and achieve that image when processing the image back at home. If I've stuffed it up with poor technique then it'll usually be binned.

I'm hoping it would drop a little from there too. The 85mm can be had for under £200 on evilbay.

Certainly one to keep an eye on I think. I've been considering the 85mm which looks sharp wide open. but trying to manually nail the focus with such limited dof could prove tricky. Of course the extra dof that 14mm will provide means it should be fairly easy to get relevant focus out of the wide option.

I believe they do a 8mm fisheye also, but that's only aps-c coverage.

I'm glad you answered your own Rhetoric there George. I thought it was going to be like picking teams for a schoolyard game.

your pick HCB, then I'd have picked AA, & so on & so forth. I wonder who the overweight unco-ordinated kid would have been left at the end ?
Good lunch, was it?

HaHa, judjing by the riposte it seems you thought that my last comment was a dig at you ? It couldn't be either of us as we were team captains remember !

Anyways, since you asked. I enjoyed a nice cream tea in place of lunch.

This will get Pentax noticed in a bad way.

I see SRS have all four colour on their website, available for advance orders.

Maybe Treklens don't allow hotlinking ?
Photobucket.com definately do.

As for GL's suggestions, that is also viable. Just don't let Martin catch you uploading any old stuff !
