As Mat says, the only time I dislike them is when at the seaside, attempting to eat a bag of chips !

Pick up a fast prime lens, 35mm F2, 50mm f1.4 or Sigma 30mm f1.4

Actually, if you tend to rely on the focus indicator when using manual focus then this could have some merit !

More megapixels means more noise, but the change to CMOS from CCD has resulted in better noise control at higher iso.
