Help!
I have just acquired an MZ-M body.
I fed it with 2 new CR2 batteries, attached an FA lens & switched on for the first time.
The display works fine and the alternate programmes appear in the LCD.
My problem started when I pressed the shutter.
The mirror has locked up and whatever I do it won't come back down.
I was previously pressing the DOF button, but I have no idea whether this was a related effect.
The mirror was properly parked before I attached the lens, and whilst I was looking through the viewfinder and zooming focusing - which worked until I pressed 'GO'
Is this a known fault, a one-off aberration, or me being a d*!k-head?
Any help would be most welcome.

I have an MZ7, with a non functioning shutter, It's a common fault that developes with all MZ cameras.(so my favourite camera shop tells me)
My MZ7 body had very little use, no damage either from impact or misuse.
Like you everything powers up, all modes are displayed, but the shutter just will not work.
The repair costs are prohibitive, as it will cost more to repair this camera, than it's in fact worth.
My solution was to bite the bullet and purchase a new K20D!
Hope this helps.
Kindest Regards,
Peter,

What price did you pay?

If everybody starts thinking like that, you'll never buy a single lens.
By the way it's my birthday on 14/11/2010, and I would love one as a birthday present.
Anyone out there listening????????????????

Was wondering if any of you could recommend what you believe to be the best waders/wellingtons for grip on wet coastal rocks. The cheap pair I have (from lidl) are not up to the job i.e Poor foot support, poor grip and not high enough up the leg (have got caught out several times now).
Wouldn't want to spend the earth but would pay 50/60 if they were stand out in performance
Kindest regards,
Peter.

Often a shot needs more magnification than 50mm, and then around the corner there is a shot that screams out for wide angle!
This lens could be just what many of us are looking for.
What do members think?

It is a precision job and is best left to a specialist repair facility!
I'm afraid that you may have damaged your lens, and would suggest that your best course of action is to get it repaired and serviced by a specialist repair facility, as you have just done more harm than good.
Kindest regards,
Peter.

yes, I had one black diamond and sold it, regretted it after needing one, bought a silver Slik 88 and it wasn't as good. I've since got hold of another black diamond.
The only iffy point to watch is the quick release clamps for the legs. Make sure they are not split/damaged. Also make sure the QR post/nut is included as they are hard to get.
Shame the accessories are no longer availabe, the long lens support would be useful.

I got up this morning to find one of my dogs had died in the night.
She was 8 years old, and as fit as ever yesterday.
She was a good dog, my dog, and I miss her.
Kindest regards,
Peter.
