Just a quick 'fit like ?' from a Cornish born, Scottish east coast raised and now Norfolk based 40 something male...confused ? Yes I am.. but I find some solace in Photography and having lurked around for a wee while, would like to say a formal hi to everyone on this most amiable of forums. I started out on kodak thingymajig with a round hexagonalish film thing, went on to a 35mm Minolta Dynax (oh the pain of only receiving 2 good pics out of 36 from Truprint, Snappysnaps or whatever it was in the 80/90's). Evolved through compacts to my wife's Pentax K100 , fell in love with digital and now wrestling with my Scottish self to order a K20d and 16-45mm from SRS at 9am tomorrow morning ) Love landscapes (as you would living in the wonderful county of Norfolk) and looking forward to hanging out on the forum - learning , sharing and imbibing a glass or three of Shiraz.

Hi, I've just bought the K20D from Park cameras, I can recommend both the camera and Park, best camera shop I've been in by far!
By the way, I'm of Conish descent, Born in London E17 Trevose Road(Trevose Head being Cornish also) and with the very old Cornish surname of Roskilly!
When you've the time pop down to Suffolk, for some good scenic shots, and treat yourself to a pint of Adnams "Broadside", knocks spots off any Shiraz!

Hi Roscoe - another Essex boy!

Hello Dan,

Firstly it's wonderful to be called a boy at 61, more of an OLD Boy lol.

As to Essex, I can't really claim to be an Essex Boy, Old or not, as I was born in E17, and am an Eastender.

But never the less thanks for the welcome, take it easy,

Roscoe

Hello Hyram,

Like you I have the AF280T, have you used it on your K20D with the Pentax hotshoe grip?

If you have what Synch cord are you using to connect the K20D hotshoe to the hotshoe grip?

What are you using the Metz on, and do you use it on a hotshoe grip?

I'm trying to sort out compatibility issues with the K20D

Welcome to the forum.

The FA 80-320mm is a good lens. A common criticism is it's softness at the long end, just like most long range zooms. Between 80 and 250'ish its a good performer.

On your K20D it'll have an equivalent field of view (FOV) of a 120-480mm lens on a 35mm film camera.

Hi I've just joined,and just purchased a K20D+DA18-55mm II.

My trusty MZ 7, let me down during a visit to ULURU Australia, I found that the shutter was dead!
Camera had never been dropped, banged or suffered any form of misuse, and frankly I was amazed that it had packed up!

Cost of repair outweighs the value of the camera(film cameras are not worth a light), so I have taken the plunge and replaced it, with the K20D.
What experiences have anyone had using a Pentax 80-320 35mm lens on a digital camera? I'm interested in what results can be achieved
