I purchsed mine back in July and for my main type of photography which is aviation it was a step up from the K20 (the other half uses one now) but not quite the leap I thought it would be in terms of FPS. Having said that it is quicker than the K20 and I have got some images which I might not have got with the K20.

I was impressed with the weather sealing, in fact I stood in the rain and took a picture of the Vulcan taxi-ing back with a B52...there aren't many photos of that...I wonder why?

But at the moment it is back at Pentax UK courtesy of SRS with a damaged sensor. I used it for a week in August with no problems and a couple of weeks ago noticed some "dust spots" on my images at the same place with different lenses. I took it back to SRS and they confirmed it was damaged so they sent it back for Pentax UK to have a look. Chris did warn me though that the last K20 that went back the sensor was not repaired under warranty so watch this space...I had the K20 for about a year and have never had any problems with the sensor on that whilst making lens changes.

Try SRS as well Vic. They stock Inov8 branded batteries for the K-7.

I bought them on-line from a company based in the Channel Islands. I have owned them since new.

For Sale are 2 Class 6 16GB SDHC cards by Integral labelled "Ultima Pro." No box included but they are in a small case. Have been used a few times and are in very good condition. Decided to get some 8GB instead so as not to rely on such big cards at once!

£15 each including standard 1st Class delivery.

Has anyone got any recommendations regarding USB flash drives with particularly fast transfer rates when using RAW images? Looking at 16gb in particular.

I use this as after a day's results I copy the images onto the flash drive for convenience then sort out the good from the bad and then back them up on the external hard drive.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

The runway shots were taken from within the Friends of RIAT enclosure, which is at the furthest end and without anything in front. I also had a grandstand seat which I didn't think would be any good for photos but in the end it wasn't that bad.

Yes I've got a few of the Vulcan in flight and it was the star of the show for me over the weekend! I'll put some more on later if there are any more requests

I didn't take many of the Apache as I've seen it at Waddington and Biggin Hill this year so I concentrated on other aircraft

Here is a small selection of photos taken with the K-7 which I had bought the previous Thursday. No noise reduction has been applied and a few minor changes have been made via Silypix and the lens used were 60-250 and a DA*300mm.

These were shot in TV mode with the Auto ISO set at 100-400 and the ISO parameters were set at the "Slow" setting.

The point I am trying to make unsuccesfully it seems is that I don't always delete the images straight away from the card once I have backed them up on whatever I am backing them up on for whatever reason

Sometimes I find images on my card but in the knowledge that I have already backed them up so I can then format the card...that is when I come across some that I have edited with the message that I posted earlier on.

The images have already been transfered to a back-up source at that point be it a HDD or CD, it might just be that I haven't got round to taking them off the card so that I can use it again...it's when I look at the images on the camera before I format the card that it doesn't read them
