I would suggest you get a card-reader and download your pictures to the computer and work on them there.

G
Which is what I do anyway...I was just saying that if images are manipulated with other software for example if I rotate an image on the PC as opposed to having auto rotate in the camera then the above message is displayed.

Nass,

Hope you've got it sorted now.

I think it's a pity that the wearing of hats has passed. When you see films of the 40's and 50's practically all men wore a hat and some were really fetching while others like my father's pork pie hats were functional.

I wonder what led to the demise of the hat? Possibly less exposure to the elements as fewer people walk to work?

Mike
You could be right Mike. I have since purchasing that hat worn it on other occasions as I find it more practical than a baseball cap (especially when using a DSLR) even though one of my children said the other day when I wore it "Can't you wear a proper hat"

I recently borrowed a 150-500 and used it with my K20 at Duxford recently for some aircraft photos. I found that images up to around 370mm were usuable but the few I took at 400mm and over were very soft and in the whole I was disappointed with it's performance so I was glad to give it back. As Scott says try before you buy on your camera if possible.

Have a look at this thread that I created the other week...

Just added mine, my other half took this at our recent trip to the air show at Biggin Hill in June. I don't normally wear hats like this but it was a hot day and my Pentax baseball cap just didn't offer that much protection

Sure, One way to do it is to plug it into the system, When ure computer recognises it go into my computer, right click on it and the left click on format.

Make sure its set to NTFS press start and jobs a good'un!

Or If you have a copy of partition magic you can use that.

Hope that helps.

Defo consider a normal HDD and enclosure tho
Thanks!

I have been fortunate enough to be offered the chance to go up in a helicopter to take some aerial shots of London and now have the dilemma as to what lens to use. I have the DA 18-250 which I think will be okay or should I use my recently aquired DA* 60-250? Having said that I think that lens may be slightly too big and heavy

Any other ideas/suggestions?

Some advice please re external hard drives...

I am currently using a Maxtor Basics 750GB external hard drive which I have owned for a couple of years now. A few days ago I noticed something "rattling" inside as if I had dropped the drive (which I have never done) and as a result accessing some of the images can be a bit hit and miss. I don't want to rely on this anymore and I'm probably going to buy another external hard drive and as I shoot RAW now I will look for a larger capacity.

Having looked on the 'net today I have seen some Western Digital book hard drives but apparently you have to format them to the NTFS system to obtain the best performance?

Any recommendations as to which brands I should look for and which ones to avoid?

Regards

Rob

For those of you that don't already know Adobe have released a plug-in for Elements 6 that will now read Pentax PEF files:

http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=106&platform=Windows

I downloaded this the other day and it will now read PEF files created by the K20D and the K-7 with no problems into the Organizer.

Just click on the Camera Raw 5.4 update and it shows Pentax K-7 (PEF), you can install it from there.
