It all depends on the type of photography that you are taking IMO. If you are finding that the Pentax system is not doing the job for you then go out and do some research about the other systems. Changing can be expensive unless you are going to get your money back, not just being paid for images but satisfaction in your efforts as well.

I agree with K10D in that if you are considering a change then try and run alongside with your current gear in case you ever want to go back or use Pentax as your back-up kit.

Cracking shot

Where was that taken? As I'll be using the K-7 I think it can make those adjustments in camera.

Here's a small selction of photos taken at Duxford last month at the American Air Day. No image processing here although some of them could do with it, they are as they were taken using a K-7 and 60-250mm/300mm lenses.

This is my favourite of the bunch, I managed to frame it just right to capture the heat haze shimmering over the parked aircraft

All good shots but number 2 for me with the cloudy sky as the background...nice

Number 4 is a nice image too, my advice with shots like this would be to try and frame it a bit earlier towards the right of the frame so that it has space to the left of it to fly into if that makes sense.

My partner and I are off to Iceland again in January and I want to both improve and increase my photos from the last trip, which will hopefully include the Northern Lights this time as it was too cloudy when we went last year.

Is the DA*16-50mm suitable for landscape use from those of you that have it? I bought a 12-24mm from Amin a month or so ago which I know will be very useful but I was thinking more of the weather sealing aspect as well and looking at what lenses to take. I will be using it on a K-7 (which has now been repaired ) and my partner she will be using the K20.

Thanks

Rob

For Sale is a black Tamrac filter case with a tag and numbers 5329 on the reverse (item number I believe). This is in an excellent used condition and it holds up to 8 filters.

£5.00 including delivery.

If you have a problem getting the people concerned to take the photos off, then you could contact Picasa and inform them that your images have been appropriated without your permission.

The site may remove them.
That will be a last resort for me John...I'll try a more tactful approach first

Rob, use this situation as a good lesson and next time you will know better, no matter to whom you give the images even if they are very close to you I am sure you will put your watermark on them. The thing about images is that you pass it on to someone else and by the time you realise they are already been passed so many times when its to do with family events, and you end up not getting the credit for taking them because the last person looking at them will not go that far down the chain and think who took them.
That's the problem Amin. The picasa site will be viewed by many people wondering who the photographer was I would imagine. With other images I have submitted to individuals for inclusion on websites etc I have included my watermark but I was not made aware at the time I allowed the images to be copied that they would end up like this

Anyway rant over now and lesson learned

However, why did you allow them to be copied onto someone else's computer? Clearly this is a family event and I can see how people might imagine that they can be shared but if someone has now put their copyright message on them that suggests dishonesty.
Let's just say this has been a learning curve for me! I've no problem with people sharing my photos but when they take credit for it...different matter altogether. The next time this happens I'll make sure my copyright is on the images already before they are shared or insist that I am credited with the photos if the photos are required at the time.
