Yes I have used them for landscapes and panoramas, very useful, a good one is normally around £14. I now have two built into my new tripod head which is very useful indeed.

I think you'll find the new Pentax to be a medium format camera, there are no Pentax DSLRs for the foreseeable future, not the ones were are after anyway.

I wish some one would explain to me what "bokeh" is, you are lucky Jackie to understand such terminology.

I regularly use a Pentax Rear Converter-A 2X-S with a Pentax smc Pentax-F, 1:4.5 300mm ED [IF] lens and have excellent results on a K 20 D body with prints to A3 size for aircraft and wildlife. I posted a Siskin on the main gallery, but I do not know how to post images in the forum.

I have no experience at all with these lenses, my only two comments, apart from ones already made here, IE F8, are Price £79 (cheap as Chips springs to mind) (together with Optical Quality) and Import Duty/Taxes from the States, have been stung a few times.

One things for sure though; the old Taks are very capable lenses!
I couldn't agree more, (check out my sig below) I have quite a collection and enjoy using them all, more so than my modern Pentax lenses at the moment.

I always have one Tak permanently attached to my DS and My favourite would be the SMC 35mm f2, the 400mm is also super sharp with excellent contrast.

Once you get your technique down, they aren't difficult to use.
I use them in AV mode, set the aperture, focus wide open using the auto switch and then switch back to manual to take the shot.
I am most interested in your technique, could you explain a bit more how you set it up. I have smc m lenses, use them on my Pentax LX with B&W film, but I am experimenting using them on the K20 D. I set the camera to manual and in the Custom Settings, number 36, "using aperture" number 2, "permitted". At these settings, when you first switch on the camera, you then set the focal length of the lens manually and you are ready to shoot. I note you say you use AV mode and I am curious to learn why? perhaps I am doing something wrong here and would appreciate you input.

Well i'm currently working the graveyard shift at work.
Rees, there are some fantastic stones there, let me know when you're planning a visit and if I'm free I'll tag along. Karl, make sure you share your shots with us. I'm hoping for a cemetery theme in a comp soon !
I'll let you know Bob, I have not been to Cardiff for a long time, meanwhile I shall be looking closely at graveyards, with my camera of course and if I think there are any good shots, will definitely post here, but not sure how to. Have posted in the main gallery, but never in a forum.

Excellent B&W of the grave stones, good definition, must put it my list to visit.
