Your photos have recorded the view very well, but what a sprawling mess man has made of this part of earth.

I like number three, it seems to say a lot about the event and the day.

As long as you smile for the security cameras Mike, when your walking around looking up, good idea to wear some goggles though in case of dive bombing pigeons.

As I have said before each to his and her own - and I am something of a grouch these past few days, goodness knows why I can usually work out what's bugging me but not this time!

Mike
Its those auto focus lenses that are getting to you, step back, enjoy engaging your hand with the focus ring, seeing everything in focus for the first time, focus on what's good in photography, focus on all those shots yours going to take, take time to focus on that ring, you'll know it makes sense focusing on what makes you happy, focusing on photography. Now don't you just fell better? - a little? there you are then, things always turn out right in the end, when your focused

Agree here with John, excellent definition with good depth well taken.

The guest editorial team have done a great job and I think they should be very proud of their first issue.

There are some errors, such as the rerpeated photo and also some other photos have been stretched giving them the wrong aspect ratio, but these are minor things when we look at the excellent overall quality.

PU magazine is a totally different beast to what it was 10 years ago and when you compare the old with the new the quality jump is just staggering. It's come a long way thanks to pete and his editorial team.
All sounds like a sales pitch to me, what are the proof readers drinking letting errors go out in the first place, now I can wait for it to arrive.

Mine has not arrived either, I wonder if the horses have been fed, it is not raining here also and the sun has just gone down, so its time for a drink and inspect the letter box tomorrow.

I have used Slik tripods for years, using a Slik Pro 400DX at present, first class does everything you want and did not break the bank.

Hi Folks,
New to the forums and in the market for a minty Used K20D plus lenses and extras.
Recently moved away from Canon as i didnt feel i was challenging myself so decided i would go down the Pentax route and try and get a load of Cheap, old manual lenses and challenge myself a little.
Let me know what you have plus prices.
Just satisfy my curiosity in what way does getting a heap of old primes offer a challenge - apart from the inconvenience they represent?

Mike
Dear dear, inconvenience? where's this coming from? The old primes as you refer to, are quality lenses and remember, the body only holds the film, er, sorry card. The quality of your photography entirely rests on what your eyes/lens sees, the quality of the lens determines the quality of what you record and hopefully you will start to think about focus, aperture and improve your photography. I have quite a few quality Pentax lenses (old primes) and the quality of them is superb, treat yourself to one and have a go.

I use an Epson Perfection 3170 Photo scanner, it does 35mm slide and film and 120mm film/slide I have excellent results from it. Scanned and printed slides I took back in the 60s with excellent results.
A friend of mine recently purchased an ION film & slide scanner from Maplins (see link above) its simple to use and I was staggered at the quality of his prints from his 1950s slides, really impressed me and for the price you could not go wrong, give them a look.
