Gwyn,

"NASA still images, audio files and video generally are not copyrighted." (see here).

That are really nice and clear pictures. (Must have been a very clear day in space ).

Thanks for a swift and well executed judgement Rob and congrats to Garry for the nice shot!

I especially liked Dan's and Malo's shots this time round.

Looking at the new topic I could submit the same entry again...

Cheers,
Prieni

Well, I had to send it back and hope that it will be exchanged for a new one. Can you imagine how I feel having had a brand new K20D for what felt like 20 nanoseconds (I had it a week but no time to put it through it's paces; seemed to work wonderful as long as you don't stuck a Pentax flash gun on it).

Fingers crossed that I will get another one soon...

Thanks chirpy for your reply.

Yes, I have set the Fn menu to flash on. Whatever mode I adjust on the flash, the camera won't take notice of it ("flashing" flash symbol).
If I set it on manual mode the flash will fire but the result will be an overexposed shot.

Seems as if I have to send this little marvel of technology back.

Hopefully more luck with the next one (or the fixed one)...

Cheers,
Prieni

Yesterday I got my K20D but the first tests with the flash(es) AF360FGZ and AF540FGZ were disappointing. When attached to the camera I cannot bring them in P-TTL mode. It seems the camera doesn't "see" the flash as the flash indicator is blinking and exposure time is long (in Av).

I tested the flashes again on the *istD and they work as intended (i.e. recognized by the camera and zooming when using the zoom on the lens).

Am I doing something wrong or is there a fault in my brand new K20D? Or is there some incompatibility of older flashes? (The 540 is two years old now, the 360 a fair bit older).

I appreciate replies but might not be back to check until the end of the week (a short trip to the UK, London and Southampton).

Cheers,
Prieni

Well done everybody and congratulations Rob.

Good judging Tony!

I thought about finding a suitable spring but as I was roaming ye olde England I had no time to find a suitable subject and set up a proper shot.

Well, another one from the archives, I'm afraid. Have to say that spring has advanced further in the south of England than it has in the northeast of Germany...

Thanks Mongoose,

I also like it very much.

Sometimes it's hard to say if the shot you like does "tell the same story" to someone who hasn't been there (the third one is taken only a few hundred meters from where I live). It is difficult to judge if you like a shot because of the fond memories you might have to the "real life scene" or because it speaks for itself...

Thought I might upload a few more that were in the running to be my competition entry this week...
