The mechanical zoom is a bit on the fast side, I would prefer it to be a little slower than it is. It`s a bit in, out, oops to far try again oops not far enough and it`s not refined either

Seems to be a problem with most bridge cameras I have tried other than Fuji models

Is the zoom a manual or powerd zoom ?. I have tried a few bridge cameras and find the manual zoom on the fuji cameras much more accurate than the powerd zoom of the rest of the feild.

Looks a cracking lens and works very well on the impressive K5. I would like this lens myself but its out of my price range. Some lovely photos there Alan well done.

It's a lot longer than the 50mm, and not much bigger, so it would work as a sort of discrete telephoto for candid portraits, even doggy ones. You can use it for concert shooting if you are fairly near the stage. It's acceptable wide open (in Av mode, which is more convenient) although better stopped down to f5.6. The shots above are lovely and sharp by the way!
Thank you for the feed back a bit of an impulsive purchace to be honest not sure if I will use it that often.

I purchased this lens some time ago but have not realy used it that much and wonderd where it might be best used. I think it might be useful for the odd dog show as a portrait lens but not sure if it offers any more than my 50mm smc m 1.7 to be honest can amy one offer an opinion.
