Hi Brad i use a sigma 50-150mm f2.8constant for portraits it's quite expensive but a lovely lens
Would the DA 50-135 make a decent portrait lens do you think?
Personally I prefer zoom lenses as to the fixed primes as you have more control. Like I say though, that's my personal choice.

It's been said before, but I'll say it again. You don't need auto-exposure or auto-focus with macro, so don't be afraid to buy an old manual lens. The Pentax A and M macros are excellent, as, of course, are manual versions of the Tamron 90mm.

I use the Sigma 105mm and find it perfect for my macro work and although it's not always advisable due to camera shake even with SR on, I do hand hold it often. Although with macro it is advisable to use a tripod where you can.
Also I have sent you a PM

What part of the island are you from?
You are certainly in a very photogenic place. My parents live there as well so I get plenty of opportunities to chill out and release my creativeness.

Your images are really good & sharp and very well taken.
They go against a review I read about the Bigma, it said that images were soft at the edges at the longer end, I think it was from 400-500mm.
Do you or anyone else find that this is the case? This is what prevented me from buying it in the first place. I haven't actually tried one out, saying that, I haven't even seen one. Compared to the Sigma 150-500mm, are they bigger or are they just bigger in diameter?
I am still tempted in getting one

Thing is would you get decent advice from the other stores? if you use SRS for advice surely it`s only proper to buy the occasional thing from them; presumably this is their line of thought.
Davex.
It is then up to me which of these I choose to purchase from.
I's just like if a potential client calls me and asks what my packages are and I spend my time telling them, it's purely upto them whether they take me on or not.

Number 4 is the dogs bits!
These are really, really great like cream being dropped in runny jam, hmmmmmm
Really amazing.
Can these keep getting better and better? I have no idea, but I enjoy the anticipation of newer ones each time!

hope i hav`nt offended some of our more senior forum members.
Davex.
Personally I find SRS overpriced compared to alot of other online stores, but, BUT, before anyone pounces on me, their knowledge is second to none and I often called them for advice, something that they didn't mind giving even if I wasn't buying.

Please don't waste your time, I bought it from W/Express and sent it back the next day.

Also with digital we all tend to be a bit more trigger happy as there is no worry about costs.
I, and many others on here, learnt with film cameras. Film was expensive to both buy and process also they mainly came in 24's or 36's, unless you had a bulk film loader and managed to squeeze on about 40 or so Every shot counted and obviously you couldn't check if it was exposed properly or not. Also even if you were trigger happy, you could get through a roll of film in seconds.
So now with digital you can be more ruthless with that trigger and take 100's at a time and most of the time you have no idea how many you have taken until you upload to the computer and sometimes nearly faint when you see that you have taken 4GB of photos on the one subject.
The error for judgement has more or less been removed. Dodgy images are just deleted, or if taken in RAW those images can be altered and saved.
So I wouldn't worry about how many you have or have not taken in a day or week, every situation is different.
