I have found that both DA and non-DA lenses do have some CA in certain circumstances. Then again, many of my lenses will or won't show CA depending on Aperture or indeed the body it is on. For example my 16-45 hates my K-5, but is fine on the K20D. My SMC-M 50mm F1.7 hates my K10D but loves my K-5. All very bizarre.

So, I use photoshop and cameraRAW which have sliders to reduce the CA on all lenses. They work very well indeed.

What gets me is how a lens can be different on bodies, aperture and indeed filters. yet there is no consistancy. old lenses, new lenses, filters, no filters, aperture, light, contrast etc.
The arguements of old lens + new body, old body + new lens, sensor out resolving lens, lens out resolving sensor etc etc does not really hold water.
All it is, is the combo of Light, Aperture, lens, sensor at the given shot that seems to be the issue. I may be wrong on this but this is how I have found the situation with CA.

Apparently, according to various sources, Pentax is now a 7 model range (excluding Q and 645D)which means the following:-

K-3
K-5IIs
K-5II
K-50
K-500
K-30
K-r

Now I have not seen a K-r listed in the UK for a long time, yet the UK website still shows it as a current model. I also thought that the K-50 was the replacement for the K-30.
I would probably say that Pentax is now a 5 model range, with the K-5 still a current model, higher than the K-50/500 and below the K-3. That would make more sense. CaNikon seem to manage quite happily with many variants of APS-C bodies. So may this is what Ricoh want? Display a larger range than just 2 or 3 bodies, and the punter off the street can be impressed when they go into Jessops and the like.
What will be even more impressive will be when the A-1/LX-1/SV-1/Z-1D/P-1 or whatever the FF body will be called next year

It is a elegant looking lens, the Zeiss, but boy that is a tad pricy.
I wonder how much better it is than my Mamiya-Sekor M42 mount 55mm F1.4 which cost me a mighty £30!

Law of diminishing returns will say better, but 100 times?

Does the very well made MZ-S suffer the problem of lesser MZ bodies where the plastic cogs for the mirror return split? Or are they made of metal?

Thanks for the comment Michael. Although I did not come anywhere, it is appreciated. Great shots overall, and I do like the winner. Very original!

I would forget a tablet for photo editing and stick with a good laptop. There just isn't the capacity on a tablet and the apps are not a patch on full Photoshop. The control isn't there either as there's no mouse or keyboard.
I completely agree. Even cheap laptops (Medion, Lenovo, Acer etc) are of good quality and powerful.

Better to get a laptop first. Use a tablet to promote your work to prospective clients by having images sized to suit (will use less memory)

Anyway +1 for the Retina on the iPad. I don't have retina on my iPad 1, but it is still a good screen.

Of the two I would go for the Ricoh. Not because it is a Pentax-Ricoh, but mainly to do with the sample images I have seen all over the web, it is just better than the Nikon.
The bonus is that it is cheaper and puts money into the Ricoh R+D for further Pentax gear.

Having said that, as I already have the K-01 and the K-5 plus the DA21mm Limited, I am more or less covered with a walkaround camera of this type, albeit a little chunkier.

I will have a complete set in Black and a complete set in Silver please.
Black to partner the K-5 and the Silver to partner my Silver K-01.

Is that being greedy?
