I use the K100D on a monopod with the Sigma 170-500 and the SR switched on and it works fine. Use your body as the other two "tripod legs" and brace yourself accordingly.

Yesterday I purchased a LG Flatron 20" Wide Screen LCD monitor which, so far, I am very happy with. I will calibrate it with my Spyder2 at the weekend and try some PS work.

I have to buy a new monitor tomorrow as my CRT bit the dust today. I'm probably going for LCD but not sure whether to go for normal screen or wide screen. Any advice for suitability for use with Photoshop, etc. would be appreciated.

For what it's worth, my monitor is calibrated with Spyder 2 and the picture is "greenish yellow".
