Prior to buying - good research. Trawling the forums and finding out what others see as good and bad about a lens. A known pedigree (F* FA* DA*) Etc Pentax's pro range. Build quality plays a big part in it for me also, besides the glass. A good solid feel to the lens and all the bits stay together! Depends what you want to achieve with your photography as well, as to what will be the best lens(s) for the job. Budget, as well as trial and error also play a big part too

Still not very much like spring yet but the snowdrops are out and the greenhouse auto roof vent opened for the first time this year!
Braved the chill wind and captured the snowdrops in my garden - had to use flash as the light was fading!

I have GGS protectors on my K10D K20D and K7. Been on since new. The protectors are also so much easier to clean, besides the added protection!

Probably about £600-£700

This Lens looks in great shape. I have a copy and can't praise it enough for it's image quality. Anyone looking for a 300mm lens go for this one! That is unless the price goes crazy..
