The National Trust does not get my vote either! Exhorbitant charges - not only for entry to some of their properties (Which they were given in some instances), but also the cost just to park on their potholed patches of tarmac. I have the Dorset Coast on my list of photo sites to visit: Chesil Beach and Lulworth Cove in particular...

I wonder how the 1.7AF adapter would work with it...

Best Regards,

Did put a x2 REAR CONVERTER on it to shoot the moon but couldn't get all the moon in the frame

Hi Clarky,
That is my next task - to post some imgages from this lens. Just waiting to the opportunity to get out in some good weather and use it!
With a minimum focus of 20m, it is a bit big for taking photos in my back garden

I have been reading the forum regarding fungus in lenses, so I thought I would show this lens some daylight and make sure all was ok. Glad to say, clean as a whistle:
Pentax 2000mm Reflex, Gitzo 5531s, Pentax K7 + OEM Grip, Wimberley MKII Gimble Head, Lens Coat Camo + Plus Pentax Strap attached to camera!

I'm glad I don't have to carry that beast around. Not exactly an every day lens. I'd like to seem some photos taken with it though!

K.
OK - Just need some good clear bright weather to get decent photos with this! Plus need to make some time as busy with household projects - Round Patios for instance

I use a Gitzo 5531S a Wimberley MKII Gimble head and Wimberley long lens plate. It needs a really stable platform. Distant subjects are affected by heat haze etc on a warm day, so focus is not always sharp. Cant use it in the garden as the min focus is too great

In that case I think Bojidar Dimitrov would like to hear from you - his entry for the lens is based on educated guesswork rather than having spoken to someone who's used one! http://kmp.bdimitrov.de/lenses/primes/extreme-tele/K2000f13.5.html

Is it as much of a handful as it looks? I get the impression that you'd need a broadcast-quality tripod to keep it right side up and a very stationary subject to get the focussing right.
