I saved about £100 on my K5 last year, based on then the market price.... I'm hoping this year for a good deal on a lens (or two!). But you have to shop around - and don't assume that the price shown is the best they can do!

I haven't found, amongst all the speculation regarding this lens, any suggestion of a release date. except I think 2012. This could mean tomorrow....or Christmas!

Depends what you photograph... but if it's any kind of wildlife then the low-light capability is worth the extra money on its own! I've taken loads of shots with the K5 that would never have been possible with my previous K10D

I have yet to catch one of these on camera - the ones at Rutland Water just taugnt me with their bellowing from in the reed beds!

A good example of what the Sigmas can do.

I've used the non-os 120-400mm for over two years and most (if not all) of the bird pics on my flickr pages have been taken with it - it's capable of very sharp images given the right conditions.

I've never seen a credible side by side comparison of the three lenses at the long end, which might convince me to upgrade to the 150-500 os or to to justify the high price of the 50-500 if you don't need the facility at the short end.

But....the price for the 150-500 at the moment at SRS must make it a very good buy!

yes...560mm is an interesting focal length! No * or WR - I wonder how will it stack up against the DA*300 and TC ?

Johnson's have a dedicated phone line with very helpful staff at the end of it - that's the best way to get an update.

They had my K5 for repair -which had to wait for parts. My only gripe was that they had the camera for a week or more before they even inspected it to determine what parts they needed to order, which prolonged the delay.

Looks like some spam machine has finally caught up with the forum. It's difficult to stop them these days.

I play around with a website that has what's on listings and, fortunately, I have to manually approve the listings before they appear -otherwise I'd be swamped by similar postings to the ones appearing here.

Hopefully someone will be able to block the sender on here soon!
