The new Leonard Cohen album was waiting for me when I got home. Think I've listened to it about five times in total. It really is excellent.
I agree! I've been carrying it around with me since it came out. I always thought it was a shame there were few recordings of LC reading his poetry - this comes quite close. Strange how colleagues don't appreciate it when I play it in the office!!

First saw him at the IoW Festival in 1970!

Yes, as said, the prices quoted are EXCLUSIVE of VAT - if you go to the checkout it's added on.

I think I'm right in saying this is strictly against the law and prices should be inclusive of VAT. That's why their prices come up as so good in google searches.

Shame about the focussing, that last shot would have been a cracker!
Well, there's always next time!!! (I had a look and I recon if you walk back along the track a bit, there's probably a gate looking into the field where the owls were playing about - must investigate!!)

Not in focus .... always the way when it would have been a good pic!!

Still, after all this time, trying to get the right combination of settings with the 120-400. Think I'm probably also expecting a bit much from a crop!

I think you were right about getting over the ridge Danny. I've got what would have been a fantastic shot of two owls doing their courtship thing... totally out of focus of course!

Nice to have a Pentax meet anyway!! I just hope Vic got home in time to keep his wife happy!!!

Leyland Electronics still appear to be operating this website - I came across it today. The Co. registration No. they quote IS for Leyland Electronics Ltd... but the phone is still not working!!

If I do make it tomorrow it will be afternoon probably.

At the weekend the owls weren't around until 2.30ish (but in the meantime we were entertained by the Pytchley Hunt riding through, anti-hunt demonstrators - and a fox (before the hunt!).

Jessops Danny? you weren't tempted by that 100mm macro I almost gave way to??!!

I'm probably going to go on Monday Vic. There's lots of other things I SHOULD be doing! but I still haven't managed the closer, sharper, shot that I'm aiming for (as is Danny I think!).

No, I haven't done anything on lenses yet - trying to convince myself it's worth waiting to see what Ricoh/Pentax come up with and/or whether I can get a good deal at focus on imaging!

My last few shots of the owls have started me thinking that the lens might be back-focusing a bit, so might test that out today.

I've just uploaded another pic to the gallery which might wet peoples appetites... taken yesterday when it was a bit sunnier - only downside was that they tended to fly higher as a result! Although they were still using the perch that Danny has got his eye on for Monday!

A 400/500mm f2.8/f4 the same quality as the DA*300 and a working up-to-date teleconverter!

Anything longer than 300mm really - sadly lacking at the moment
