Now the cashback has ended demand is likely to slow, my guess is prices will start to move downwards once that gets through to the Pentax sales dept - hope so anyway as I'll be buying in the next few months!!

Don't think you need a new camera Simon - lovely images! (and a nice reminder at the moment that in the UK the sun DOES shine occassionally!!!)

See SRS have put their prices up today

£999 for body only from £975 (was just under £900 when you took the cashback into consideration)

There is not a chance I'm going to pay more than the cashback price.
Same here! 6months and we'll see. Under the £900 would make me look for my wallet.... the nearer to £850 the more irresistable it becomes!

I guess as long as demand outstrips supply the price isn't going to move much!

I have been on the brink and SO close to ordering - to the point of phoning one camera dealer who didn't get an order because they told be to go to the website and another who misunderstood a comment and put the phone down!

With all this cloud and dull weather I'm desperate to move on from my K10D. Soon as it gets nearer £800 I shall join the club!

So the cashback K5 Offer has now ended.

Where do you think prices will go now? As a general rule, prices drop by £100-£200 after the camera;s been around for about 4 months.

Are you waiting to buy? I've been on the point of it several times!

My K10D is on TaV most of the time for birds in flight and wildlife. As has been previously mentioned it's the one way to get depth and speed perfect.

Well, as someone who's just climbed aboard the forum with his new K10D all I can say Pete, is that I must have precious little photographic talent, as I would been pleased if those shots were mine. However, I do have to say I think #1 does look better with the foreground grass removed!

But..... I am also pleased to have found a forum where there is actually constructive cricism - that's the only thing that will help us take better pics! I despair when, on other forums, people post out of focus, under exposed pictures of their pet which get met with rave reviews by other members of the forum JUST because they were taken with THEIR camera!

I look forward to receiving some constructive criticism in due course!!!
