I use it sparingly and try to keep it as natural as possible. I then export it as a tif and then work on it in LR3. I've only got the light version but I'm tempted by the full version.

Cheers again. Thought this thread had died out

2nd and 3rd are both with photomatix. The third is five bracketed shots using the tripod, the second is five shots bracketed but handheld after a couple of pints (or was it litres) and a 500 mile drive. I was very pleased the way that one turned out.

I've sold the Sigma 10-20 as I prefer the range of the 12-24. I need to do more testing with it but to be honest I very rarely encounter buildings on my normal wanders.

Had a wander down to Buttermere this morning to check out the colour. Bit windy but beautiful day so went for a wander instead. Not done a huge amount with the DA18-250 so decided to give it a go. Mixed results but nice to have that range in one lens. I missed my grads to be honest - wide range in brightness. The route was from Buttermere up over Ard Craggs and Knott Rigg then crossed over and up to Sail, Eel Crags, detoured across to Grassmoor and back to Wandope before doing Whiteless Pike and back down.

Whilst I don't own either lens I can give you my opinion of how I find the focal lengths. I think it depends how much of the landscape you want to capture. At 15mm you can end up losing your 'view' as it tends to minimise everything. With my Sigma 10-20 I started using it at the long end quite a lot, hence a swap to the 12-24.

Interesting set. I've been considering this lens purely for the WR. I do a fair bit of walking in these same locations and on some days I wouldn't really fancy swapping between the 16-50 and 50-135, which were bought as a hill walking set.

Loved the originality of Dr O's but amazed by the majesty of the winner. Some great entries. An excellent topic.

I'm megga impressed. Not just at the artistic quality of these photos (I love to see quality IR black and white pictures) but also at your skill converting the K20.

Ditto - fabulous skill. I love the bed of leaves in No3. Excellent shot and the IR adds to the atmosphere in my view. Very tempted to have a go at this.

All fabulous but I'd have the last one on my wall. I'm a huge fan of mountain scapes and I think this one has amazing depth added to a superb foreground. Perfect capture with the light going along that ridge.

Nice simple shot. Like the sheen on the conkers as well. Going to have a wee dabble at Autumn colours tomorrow.
