Never been that interested in geotagging my pictures. It means I can't lie about where they were taken...
However th astro tracking feature using the sensor shift is a very interesting development. I'll wait for some user reviews before making my mind up.
Of course I'll need a K5 first....birthday treat in September

These days I normally just use B&W film in my film cameras but I have just been given an Olympus M10 by someone who didn't use it any more. It came with a colour film so I ran that through it to see if it worked. Happily I found my local Tesco's were happy to neg develop and scan to CD without prints for the princely sum of £1.98! It took less than an hour and came with a little ( postcard size) proof print sheet.
All in all very impressive for the price....and you can do your weekly shopping while you wait.
The scans were 1MB jpegs so not brilliant quality but not at all bad either, and perfectly acceptable for a test film!

I was too tight to buy new circular polarisers (they seem to be unnecessarily expensive)after reading the same sort of stuff on the web, so I continued using my old polarisers from the 1980's.....
Can't say I have ever had a problem using them or noticed any adverse effects on the images either.

And welcome aboard.

55-300, absolutely, hands down winner. No contest.

That £599 is better than the £900 it shot up to two years ago!
I was lucky enough to get one of the PC world Samsung versions in the end of line sale for £200! Sadly haven't been that lucky since.
For landscapes the 12-24 is very good but quite often ( above 18mm) the 18-55 kit lens is all you need. Stopped down to f8 it really is very good. The 12-24 is also a big lens. You said the kit lens was too big so the 12-24 isn't for you. I think the Tamron equivalent ( 10 - 20 I think) is a bit smaller but still not "limited" size. You could have a look on ebay for an "A" series prime in the 20 to 24mm range and see how you get on with that. Manual focus shouldn't be a problem for landscapes and the older primes are small and have excellent image quality.

I'm considering rationalising to (Samsung)12-24 , 17-70 sigma EX f2.8 and TAMRON 70-200 f2.8.
Unfortunately I don't own the Sigma and Tamron yet.

On film it would be my Sigma super wide II (24mm), M35 and M 100 macro. I'd sneak the M 50 1.4 in too if nobody was looking.

I really should get rid of my 2 MX's, ME Super, LX and (some) M series primes, as I don't use them much any more, but I just can't part with them......

However I'd really like a K5 too......

I guess I'm just a hopeless case.

Check out listings for pentax film cameras like the Super A and P30 etc, as they frequently come with this lens attached and tend to go for less ( often much less) than the lens on it's own.

A very pleasant surprise. I thought it was going to be more bleedin' squirrels!
Like the contrast of concrete and a small splash of colour.

I've been past there a few times. (I work near Oxford Circus)
It's not easy to see a scene worth capturing there at the moment, though the cranes are tempting sometimes. They just never seem to be quite where I want them when I'm around.
I'd like to find a spot where I can get a crane between me and Centre Point but I've failed so far.
The curved back of the church is the most interesting contrast around there so I'm glad to see you've made use of it.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you can make of this in the coming months.
