MX veteran
Thanks for the reply.
I'm not very knowledgeable on flashguns but from reading the DL2 manual I have sussed out that my DL2 and Metz will not offer full off camera auto functions.
What I want to know, perhaps I didn't word it very well, is that will my DL2's flash set off the Metz in a purely off camera manual slave mode?
Hope this makes sense?
Hope that makes sense.

If everybody who was having these problems sent the software back, Apple would soon be more inclined to fix it.
I'm glad I use Windows, it never . . . ever . . ., no, that'd be tempting providence a little too far.

I think this camera must be less equal than most of the others.

I use a paper kitchen towel with one drop of WD40 (water repellant lubricant). Then use another paper towel to dry the contacts. Try again.
You have to prepare for the possibility that this was the reason the lens was on ebay in the first place. If it doesn't work, ask for a refund.
I assume that you have another AF lens which works properly.

One criticism though . . . spiders are not insects and therefore deserve their own sub-heading . Of course, you could rename the heading to Arthropods, then it'd be correct (bored yet?)
Arachnids are a bit of a passion of mine. I can't tell you their names, but I love photographing them.
Insects generally have three body parts (head, thorax, and abdomen) and six legs. Arachnids have only two body parts (the head and thorax being fused to form the cephalothorax) and eight legs.
Great site though, well done.

Right
I've tried shooting both JPEG and RAW at various ISO's using various lens and even on the K10D's own screen you can see the wavy lines.
Now I am convinced it is a camera problem, some kind of current leakage or electro-static interference bleeding into the sensor. It does seem to be more noticeable on the right hand edge of the image.
Guess I need to speak to Pentax, not happy seing as its 13 months old and has taken just under 2000 shots

Also, going eBay rate from USA sellers is equivalent to £330 and that often includes freebies like memory cards. Still not cheap enough for me to bother upgrading.
One thing you might want to consider is the value of keeping a backup body.
