Frankly..I think whomever is behind the decision knows very little about digital image manipulation... to an average person - and that's roughly 99% of the world's population, jpgs edits are as difficult to spot as RAW edits. People that want to manipulate will continue to do so....it's not a show stopper in any way.
That said, journalists world wide should be happy - the shooting to RAW mentality is adding very often unnecessary work load. Even if you do a RAW+ many people often feel 'compelled' to edit the RAW instead of using a perfectly good JPG

It seems easiest and cheapest to just add that to your house content's insurance. Just make sure you are covered in and out of the house, including traveling.
Haven't had to claim anything in the last decade so tough to judge how good or bad the policy is atm but don't foresee any issues just looking through the agreement. I use one insurer for everything - home, car, travel etc...seems most cost effective.

Can't help but to agree with others. Stunning images. Response is hardly surprising considering Flickr is full of questionable value snapshots. As all photography, all pics probably mean a world to their authors, for various reasons; and I am no one to judge that; but one should not be surprised that quality shines among st them

Rumors suggest that lenses for this new system will be traditional screw drive. Insiders are guessing that the screw drive motor will be a 4 cylinder turbodiesel supplied by VW. OK...I like this site....

I may be alone in my thinking - but I honestly do not believe companies have much obligations when it comes to arbitrary release dates. I'd much rather they took their time, even if it gets stretched beyond what some would consider reason; but deliver a proper product - instead of chasing the expectations of part of the client base and deliver crap, literally, on time,

Despite all the gloomy prognosis, Ricoh's finances are perfectly fine, that includes the Pentax. Let them do their jobs as they see fit. It's not like any photographer that uses Pentax products just can't live without that one lens.... And if anyone needs to jump ship because of a delay or two; well, than they have bigger issues than Pentax timely delivery

Guess using common sense goes a long way. Though personally never had any water damage with even the non WR Pentax cameras, like my very first Z1 I believe. Survived Niagra falls cruise just fine

Used my K7 than KS2 in high humidity/dust storms with no issues either. Repeatedly. I do always take care to either let dry or vacuum/wipe dust off all my equipment once I'm home and store it in dry, well ventilated places. Don't know how much of a factor that is.

Toughest little bugger in my collection is the K100D Super - with no WR and more visible sand on and in it than an average desert. It doesn't stop it taking photos

Have a feeling this thing will go on long after every other camera I own dies....

K7/K5/K3 batteries charge just fine of a random Chineese power bank bought off Amazon. Can supply the link tomorrow, need to look at hubby's Amazon account to check which one we have. Seem as long as the power pack has enough juice it will serve any device that can be hooked up via USB - and I was able to get a Pentax USB plug converter for the original charger.

If the 35mm is still around, I'll take it. PM Sent.
