Ah, congratulations. Well deserved. It would make a great, large format poster

Quality nowadays, is completely secondary to marketing power. People, sadly, prefer to spend on what others spent instead of reflecting on their own needs and doing a bit of research beyond watching a 'trending' review. Fortunately, not everyone lacks common senes. I had the pleasure of using the D850 recently, and while undoubtedly a fantastic camera in many aspects, the ergonomics and intuitive handling is still not there, and the low light performance leaves a lot to be desired. Seems recently, quite a few favourable views of the K1 are surfacing. User exposure is good. Peer reviews seem to often hold way more weight then dry, professional analysis, particularly for hobbyists with certain amount of disposable income.

The bridge for me. All are, of course, fantastic. But that bridge is one for the wall

Sell prints. Talk to your local library, souvenir shop etc and see if anyone will take them in. For that however, you generally first need to invest in a print portfolio - at least a few, high quality ones; a good photobook etc.
Sell stock photos. Don't go for the trendy markets like Getty or Shutterstock, aim at Envato or the less known ones. Less money but also less competition and more attractive prices for buying folks.
If you have say, thematic photo series, offer them to website template developers on for example themeforest.net - they get them for free, you get exposure with their audience and ask if they can mention where the photos can be licensed for their clients own projects. Use your own website, to cut out the middle man, for that. Don't put them behind a massive paywall as you will be dealing with small businesses or individuals on a budget that can't afford Getty images. You will get sales if you offer quality, high res images without ridiculous licensing restrictions (only used on 1 website, don't show it to your grandmother etc...)

Offer a single image in a series as a freebie (under the creative commons license) to spread the word. This can be used for social media marketing to a massive advantage if done regularly.

These are just a few ideas, that said, timewise, it's like a full time job haha.

Think the rumor has been discarded as fake. At least in regards to the GR.

There is absolutely no need to churn out new products every year in order to stay profitable and successful. I think it's more a bad habit we ,as consumers, have developed; constant expectation for stuff we most of the time don't buy anyhow. I'd much rather their time, effort and resources where devoted to some r&d instead of a filler flagship/entry level or mediocre glass just to stop the doom and gloom rumors. It's neither cost effective nor clever. The market leader is having financial issues and having to restructure the whole organization despite solid sales and near constant stream of new products. Most people, even professionals, can not afford to change bodies at the rate they are being released by some manufacturers anyhow. Neither do most people have the need to. In some cases, they can also barely be called upgrades.

I am personally very excited for the new 11-18mm

Lovely shots and amazing animals. That said, I'd rather not meet with any in the wild.

Pentax. Every day of the day. Forever. It is not comparable at all. Even an used, no WR version of the Pentax one is miles ahead. Sharper, better IQ, colors....
