My lens info is also not showing up. Last uploaded photo has the relevant info. The suggest list, however, does not include this particular model.
Picture in question: link
Lens as per PS exif data is - smc Pentax DA 55-300mm F4-5.8 ED.

I do like the new exif display box! Cheers

The amount of people with a lot of disposable income and the desire to posses, regardless of use is quite large. Just the other day, I was photographing a lovely house. Walk in to a 'music room'. Easily half a million dollars worth of instruments, a Steinway grand piano, a state of the art dj set up, synthesizers, electronic drum kit (every drummer mother's dream lol). Ask the owner if he makes music. Nope. Well, he plays with stuff in his free time but does not really play anything well. Hopes to learn at some point. It's no different with cameras or anything else. A good car does not make you a good driver, but it does make you feel better

From my limited experience with organized photo events, that generally means, the organizers are familiar with listed brands only. So if you are a beginner user, you may be advised that they won't be able to offer quick tips relating to your camera. Granted, it's an awkward approach but that was twice, the explanation given to me. At the same time, understandable as the amount of people showing up for events like that that do not know the basics of their own equipment is mind boggling.

My only issue was/is the continuous insulting of those that think different to the judge. There is always a place for a civilized argument, that narrative was hardly that; even with apologies offered. On the bright side of things, it acted as an inspiration to experiment on long winter (well not quite winter where I am) evenings

On a side note, still life is not called that in every language In Polish, as in French, it's called dead nature. Bottles are neither. The judge insists on 'still', yet somehow not on 'life' - if we are to take word definitions literally... But it's art. The framework of a genre is there to be built upon and you can't, and should not, suppress creativity simply because you find it does not conform to what you are familiar with. We would never create anything new if we all stuck to 'the rules' as perceived by whomever.

All operating systems have embedded drivers for input devices and even specialized mice work out of the box as far as basic functioning is concerned. That's enough to download manufacturer drivers. Licensing issues are not a client problem and if someone is buying a camera for the first time, they are more than likely to not know it is supplied with a cd. It's not advertised, it's not on the box Even then, this does not exclude having access to a download area. Ricoh already has an option to register products on their website; adding a download area for those clients is a simple task. The will is not there, that's all. Sorting a deal with the software provider is not something a client can influence and given the digital trends, something that rationally can be expected in 2018. Problem is, Ricoh has very little positive drive when it comes to support of their products which I believe is the fundamental factor in the lack of popularity of their, otherwise, fantastic products. Time to move
on with the times, instead of persisting in the past. Particularly when it has a chance of driving customers away and affect your revenue.

It is indeed a very poor response. CD/DVDs are now legacy tech and it really should not be an issue to sort out proper downloads for registered product via a simple client portal. I love what Ricoh has done to Pentax so far in terms of gear, but their backward attitude towards clients is costing them sales. Even a somewhat niche product can have a fantastic client support.

Haha, no worries. In art, there are little to no rules. Rules that have become a cannon, are alive...change, evolve into classics. They don't slow down with our life time. Just like anything. Hence the suggestion to modify the description as in this case there is no right or wrong. Just personal perception and since you are the boss here, it's YOUR rules, as long as they are unambiguous. Cheers!

Cheers for the clarification. Seems how we all perceive 'still life photography' that varies somewhat. Frankly, I have never heard the theory that that would forbid movement.

In fact, a quick Google renders multiple example of dynamic still life photos such as these:

https://www.google.com.kw/search?q=still+life+photography&source=lnms&tbm=isch&s...

I think the general consensus is that they are objects, inanimate on their own. Technology nowadays allows us to capture those objects in a variety of creative, dynamic ways. That said, the privilege of the judge is to set the rules as they want so may be just a further clarification in the competition description would be a good idea?
